offer the world kindness…

Three or four days ago, I feel compelled to write down a few words,
then release them to the
wind
when it happens that words seem to come
I write without over analyzing, I write of a feeling
as best I can
this one is close and
personal
(as most are)
I hesitate before posting, fifteen maybe twenty
minutes
finger hovers over the word  post
to share too much, to open too
much
no intention of pointing fingers or assigning any
blame
no excuses or cover ups
no real pity required,
just an understanding of complicated
stories
when the words come to me like this, I don’t usually second guess
but this one makes me
a little unsteady
very often I go with, if it brings me to tears re-reading
then it’s real, it’s my voice
and it’s just what I wanted to say
I post, then I
hide

but then, to have it received as such
that touches a few tender spots
and sparks a few
kindred’s

makes one feel
rather whole(ly)

the gratitude of my heart
is
immense

for a couple of days now, I offer a friend
strength she is needing
love and support in ways that I can
for what it’s worth

and again, I am blessed
by friendship

offer the world kindness, is what I want to say
offer the world yourself, just as you are
be considerate, be true, be
real
offer the world kindness
and in your own kind heart

you
will be
received  ♥

“Do not assume that she who seeks to comfort you now, lives untroubled among the simple and quiet words that sometimes do you good. Her life may also have much sadness and difficulty, that remains far beyond yours. Were it otherwise, she would never have been able to find these words. “
~ Theodore Roethke
