Tamara Willems

spring came as we knew it would…

If I can tell you anything,
it’s just this
keep your heart open

we thought we’d been broken
well in truth
we knew we had
and scars remain, most everywhere
you
look
around us, some
on us

not again he said,
not anymore.

Spring came though,
as we knew it
would
and again comes

a leap of faith

we went out in the morning
still dark
and listened to the birds
and it felt
encouraging

robins filled the garden
crocuses began to bloom
birds in the birdbath
and
bunny bun-bun
was out
early

on the very tip-top of the roof
a dove sat
and coo’d us a love song

while I was looking up,  beside me at my feet
leaning in for comfort
sat this small ball of love
the delightful, joyous, healing sort
just quietly
still

listening too

and I just knew we’d found our
fellow

this small puppy
all cuddles and
all
love

today between spring showers we went out
and for a few minutes
he sat, just by my feet
and there was bunny bun-bun
Roo just watched
and bunny
just
watched

the crocuses and scilla opening
a few buds breaking on the quince
mild air
I send out love and kindness to a friend
who is healing
I looked up at the trees and the
sky
and I thought to myself

this is it you know,
you just always have to keep your heart open
it’s the only way

to help,
to heal

to receive
to expand

to
grow

and to know
love

is always

around you (((♥)))
