{"id":100,"date":"2015-07-26T16:36:13","date_gmt":"2015-07-26T20:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/?p=100"},"modified":"2015-07-31T14:15:33","modified_gmt":"2015-07-31T18:15:33","slug":"there-is-a-rhythm-to-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/?p=100","title":{"rendered":"there is a rhythm to days &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1437935506148_3257\" dir=\"ltr\">It&#8217;s been a busy week, well busy for me. \u00a0Days not taken up by work, quickly absorbed by life. \u00a0For me, too much something and not enough &#8230; \u00a0 \u00a0 nothing.<br \/>\nFamily visits, \u00a0with some from far off and some quite close by, \u00a0described perhaps as delightfully intrusive in swallowing up days. Still welcomed and enjoyed yet as with families, odd undercurrents, subtle and not so subtle leave smudges around the edges.<br \/>\nBusy days with the kids and that niggling ache that comes with the thoughts of them once again spreading or in some cases finding their wings. \u00a0Such a bittersweet feeling one must sit with.<br \/>\nSo today, I say no to any other commitments, other than my laundry piles and a much need amble through my garden. \u00a0I have spoken about it many times I know, but it seems hard for me to adequately describe the absolute necessity in finding that which restores the soul.<br \/>\nFor many it is probably the complete opposite as me, where busy activity filled days with friends and rushing adrenaline leave one feeling completely fulfilled. \u00a0But for me, it is this ..<br \/>\na walk into sunshine in my garden, the sight and the sounds of silence,<br \/>\nyet not so silent<br \/>\nthe many trills, cheeps, whistles and whirls of the birds, the rattling buzzing sound building slowly than full out of cicadas in chorus<br \/>\nthe sweetest little &#8220;chick-a-dee-dee-dee&#8221; \u00a0who remains a little elusive, yet still comes so close to sitting with me<br \/>\nthe tuneful rustle of wind chimes<br \/>\nthe stillness required to ease my thoughts, my breath, my spirit<br \/>\njust to observe, beauty and wonder<br \/>\nfocus tuned<br \/>\na hummingbirds hovering to sweetness<br \/>\na butterfly sunning in delicate beauty<br \/>\ncolours and textures<br \/>\npetals and leaves<br \/>\nbeams and breezes<br \/>\nseeing, feeling<br \/>\nbreathing<br \/>\nquiet contentment,<br \/>\nunbridled joy<br \/>\nfeeling my place in all of this<br \/>\nto be grateful<br \/>\nto be peaceful<br \/>\nto be radiant<br \/>\nto be restored<br \/>\nto the rhythm of days.<br \/>\nI came across this quote by\u00a0<span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1437935506148_5394\" class=\"\">Jennifer Mattern &#8211;<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1437935506148_3257\" dir=\"ltr\"><em><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1437935506148_5392\" class=\"\">&#8220;Being still: my introvert superpower. Stillness and patience pay off, behind my lens. The camera grounds me in place and time, and for that, I am grateful. Behind the camera, I remember to breathe. I remember it takes quiet to hear, and it also takes quiet to see.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1437935506148_3257\" dir=\"ltr\">I love this in all ways, \u00a0this speaks to me &#8211; &#8216;being still my introvert superpower&#8217; \u00a0&#8211; although I certainly do not claim to be much with a camera, maybe for me it is in my garden, or behind this pencil, or my keyboard &#8211; \u00a0I am grounded and grateful, and I am once again reminded to breathe. \u00a0\u2665<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a busy week, well busy for me. \u00a0Days not taken up by work, quickly absorbed by life. \u00a0For me, too much something and not enough &#8230; \u00a0 \u00a0 nothing.
