Although I truly do love the heat of summer, there really is nothing more lovely than spring.
\nThe day begins in sunshine and blue skies, and this is my favourite of beginnings for anything really.
\nI sit this morning, with coffee reading my book, while the rest of the house is still in joyous slumber.\u00a0 Mrs. Cardinal joins me, as she does, tapping the window so that there is no way possible that I might miss her arrival.\u00a0\u00a0 Mr. also stops by the crab apple tree to join her and to add a little more beauty to the morning light.\u00a0 I tell them, as I always do, just how very nice it is to see them both, and then off they go while I quietly disappear into my book.
\nA little while later my husband comes to join me, and we are finally, after a few days of different directions, able to sit together and \u2018catch up\u2019.\u00a0 Morning coffee feels very important, and so reassuringly wonderful, as real connecting time and laughter with my Love seems always to be very essential to my well being.
\nThen, my husband spots just outside the window, a lovely brown rabbit quite enjoying the sun among the burgeoning sprouts in the garden.\u00a0 Not feeling at all like Mr. McGregor, I am so delighted to see him here, and I tell him so.\u00a0 He then sneaks under the gate, but stops to sit and look back, so that I can once again admire his sweet little face.
\nThis turns out to be my absolute joy of the morning, and is sure to have me smiling all day.\u00a0 Even though, in my efforts not to scare him off, we have spoken through the window, I can still feel my inner Snow White beaming at having visited with my animals this fine morning.
\nAnd while I know my sinuses will not appreciate it, the beauty and promise of a spring day are calling me out.
\nI do believe it would really be a shame to miss acknowledging even one little green sprout, as it bravely emerges from its wintry bed.
\nThe pond is gloriously peaceful upon waking even in its slightly disheveled appearance, showing all the signs of greatly needing a spring tidy up.
\nMy little garden fairies that live at the edge of the pond, seem to have lost their cottage.\u00a0 I am quite perplexed by this, as to how the whole house has gone missing?\u00a0 I really am hoping we don\u2019t discover it in the pond, but it still feels a bit early to disturb any of its inhabitants to find out just yet, as much of the pond life is quite certainly still rather cozily snuggled in at the bottom.\u00a0 I\u2019ll have to return to the search.
\nThe cardinals call me down to the back garden in the far corner, and upon my arrival I can see why I have been beckoned.\u00a0 As there they are, my lovely crocuses decked out in their absolute finest, the early beauties have arrived! Hooray!!
\nAnd this is exactly what makes late March feel so very wonderful, it is the sure promise of wonder and delight.\u00a0 It is the simplest and absolute beauty, in nature\u2019s renewal and rebirth.
\nIt is small things that make
\nhearts smile
\nand wings
\nflutter
\nit is all of the pure joys
\ncontained
\nin one
\nsimple
\nsunshiny
\nday
\nwhen I can step outside
\nfeel my heart swell
\nand in silence
\nexcept for glorious
\nbirdsong
\nraise my arms
\nand my face
\nto smile
\nat the sun
\nand
\ngratefully
\ncelebrate
\nlife \u2665<\/p>\n
