i step out in sunshine today,<\/div>\n
in the company of clouds<\/div>\n
in need of a wander<\/div>\n
to the library<\/div>\n
where i gather in the comfort<\/div>\n
of books<\/div>\n
and to my garden<\/div>\n
where i can sit<\/div>\n
with sadness<\/div>\n
I am drifting<\/div>\n
a bit<\/div>\n
between smiles<\/div>\n
and tears<\/div>\n
a silent sail of emotions<\/div>\n
it feels like something hurts<\/div>\n
but i’m not sure where<\/div>\n
a weight on my wings<\/div>\n
or I’ve snagged a line<\/div>\n
I am un-tethered<\/div>\n
yet it slows my feet<\/div>\n
I sit in the shade and<\/div>\n
watch as my guests arrive<\/div>\n
a woodpecker, an oriole<\/div>\n
and the lovely little nuthatch<\/div>\n
offering me great sympathies<\/div>\n
with their presence<\/div>\n
the morning doves their gentle coos<\/div>\n
Mrs. Cardinal stays all day peeping me a chorus of care<\/div>\n
she never leaves me for long<\/div>\n
in the corner i can see yellows and oranges and pinks<\/div>\n
but they are kind enough to stay silent<\/div>\n
knowing I have not missed their beauty,<\/div>\n
but I’m just not ready to join them today<\/div>\n
they surround me just the same in gracious offering<\/div>\n
the sun breaks through and delicately starts to warm<\/div>\n
just one shoulder<\/div>\n
as not to intrude<\/div>\n
but simply to assure<\/div>\n
that all will still be here<\/div>\n
waiting<\/div>\n
as the clouds will clear<\/div>\n
when beauty<\/div>\n
and light<\/div>\n
can find me<\/div>\n
