Too many cool rainy days
\nIn a row
\ncan start to wear a person low
\nlast night I go to bed
\nfeeling a little less than
\ncivil
\nconsequently my sleep is
\ndisturbed
\nand this morning once again
\nthe dog decides that since my husband
\nhas just pulled out of the drive
\nIt must be time for me
\nto get up
\nand keep him company
\neven though, to my thinking
\nit is clearly
\nNOT
\nand so when I do come down
\nI am my very own version
\nof a rather dark
\ncloud
\nfortunately it is only the cats
\nand the dogs who are subjected to my
\nmood of thunder
\nand they once again prove
\nso very forgiving<\/p>\n

Peace, like most beautiful things, begins small.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

these are the words I read this morning
\nand I try to take them in
\nin small digestible bites
\nand even though it is windy, wet and cold
\noutside
\nI slip on my husband’s boots and coat
\nand step outside to look for
\nsmall beautiful beginnings
\nto capture in frame
\nand thought
\nback inside I get an email from
\nmy love
\nand instead of the I Love you I am hoping for
\n(while it is there) what I see, \u00a0is to tell me
\nhe\u2019s coming home briefly, but then has to head
\nright back to work
\nI trudge off for my shower and decide not to
\nwash my hair
\nwhy bother
\nbut
\ns
\no
\nm
\ne
\nt
\ni
\nm
\ne
\ns
\na nice hot shower
\ncan really make all the difference
\nwhen I come down
\nmy son tells me about a bird
\nIn the tree beside the window
\nof which he has not seen before
\nsoon after
\nmy husband pulls in the drive
\nand just as he reaches the door
\nhe calls me to come out
\nbecause there on the feeder
\nis our new visitor
\nwho turns out to be a
\nRose-Breasted Grosbeak
\nand he has not been here before
\nalmost instantly I am
\nso thrilled
\nand
\nbubbling over
\noutside it is still
\ngrey,
\nit is still windy, wet and quite cold
\nbut here, \u00a0the garden is bustling
\neight Blue Jays have gathered
\nthe Downy Woodpecker is at the suet
\na chick-a-dee and sparrow stop in beside me
\nwhile the doves, \u00a0a grey and a black squirrel
\nare scouring the ground
\na very large crow is stuffing his beak
\nwith as many monkey nuts as he can possibly carry
\nand the cardinal sits on a nearby perch
\nI try to snap a few shots
\nand then
\nI quickly give up
\nand just watch the crowd
\nas they come
\nand go<\/p>\n

I have found it
\nyou know,
\nmy rainbow in the clouds
\nit\u2019s not that it\u2019s not right there
\nto see
\nSometimes
\nit\u2019s all in how you
\nfeel<\/p>\n

and just
\nhow it is you choose<\/p>\n

to
\nlook<\/p>\n
