With Friday as my day off

\nsleep in
\nI instead choose to rise early
\nso that I can share the morning
\nand coffee
\nwith my love<\/p>\n
a busy time of year for my husband
\nteaching junior clinics and two golf tournaments
\nthis week alone, \u00a0as well as both of us working
\nsometimes opposing schedules
\nleaves little time
\nfor
\nthis
\neven though we were out one night this week
\ntogether
\nit was a social event
\nand we
\nwere
\nsocial<\/p>\n
so this morning, in gratitude
\nwe sit
\nwith our coffee
\nand though my book is on my lap
\nI don\u2019t open it
\ninstead we
\nsit here together
\nto catch up
\non our days<\/p>\n
intentional presence<\/p>\n
soon enough he is preparing to leave
\ntee time awaits
\nhe sticks his head round the corner
\nof the doorway and he says,
\n\u201clet\u2019s go outside\u2026\u201d
\nhe grabs his golf club, and we walk the gardens
\nin sunshine
\ntogether<\/p>\n
and together<\/p>\n
we
\nwalk
\nmy walk<\/p>\n
together<\/p>\n
after,
\nhe comes to kiss me good-bye
\na few times
\nand then, on the last one
\nhe lingers \u2026<\/p>\n
Acute
\nintentional presence<\/p>\n
and this is precisely how
\nhe does it
\nhe wins my heart again and
\nagain
\nintentionally<\/p>\n
in small ways,

\nin every way
\nhe IS my heart
\nand all that it contains<\/p>\n

\nsimple kind of Love<\/p>\n
of small gestures
