summer is ending,

\nschool is starting,
\nthings to get done

When it’s all too much
\nmy plan is to put it off

these days,
\nI am feeling less flow
\nand more flurry<\/p>\n
I travel in words and pictures
\nbrilliant minds and brave hearts
\nbut sometimes it’s necessary to leave
\nthe privacy of my own swirling head
\nand gather in the comfort
\nof my own precious heart<\/p>\n
It never feels good to let my children go
\nbut I know there are pearls to be found
\nI want the world to be kind and to always greet them
\nwith a smile
\nbut when it doesn’t
\nI want them to take heart
\nand to always be buoyed by love
\nand the knowledge
\nthat often things turn out just as they should.<\/p>\n
I want kindness in the world
\nin our eyes
\nin our words
\nin our hearts<\/p>\n
and for now<\/p>\n
I am surrendering
\nto only this
\nto love
\nto kindness
\nto patience
\nto understanding<\/p>\n
and i guess
\nto getting things done
\nin baby steps
