One of the things I had hoped not to pass on to my kids,
\nwas my acute shyness
\n(of course we define things differently these days)
\nnow, they all have it to some degree
\nbut also what they have is so much more
\neach of them is brilliant and brave in their own way
\nthey are funny and fun
\nand always my complete joy<\/p>\n
they are each wicked smart, and very kind
\nthey are creative and imaginative
\nthey are conscientious and compassionate<\/p>\n
they are I suppose the best parts of my husband
\nand I
\nbut they are also each quite miraculously
\nthemselves
\nand I hope that what I have passed on to them
\nis to recognize
\nthe best parts of themselves
\nand others<\/p>\n
One of the things I admire among my friends
\nis kindness, of course
\nit\u2019s a sense of humour and intelligence
\nand it\u2019s compassion for each other
\nand it\u2019s really people who are just wholly
\nthemselves
\nmale and female, as I have many of both
\nif you have touched my life,
\nI am always genuinely wishing you
\nwell<\/p>\n
I talk a lot about love and kindness
\nas I do believe wholeheartedly in both
\nbut this is not to say that I am always
\nsunshiny bright
\nI\u2019ll bet that some days I am
\nhorrid<\/p>\n
but I am real, I am honest
\nabout both,
\nand I do try
\nto do better<\/p>\n
I think this can be true for all of us
\nand this is the power of vulnerability
\nto show our realness
\nto each other
\nto say, I have those feelings, beliefs, thoughts, experiences, days .. \u00a0too
\nthis
\nis how we connect<\/p>\n
sometimes this is met with kindness
\nsometimes not
\nand that\u2019s ok, I guess
\nI will still show up
\nand
\nI can still choose for me<\/p>\n
So each day, I set my intention
\nregardless of how I am feeling, I choose,
\nI choose
\nopenhearted
\nI choose
\nKindness
\nI choose
\npeaceful<\/p>\n
and I choose
\nLove<\/p>\n
this way,
\nI am always most Grateful
\nwhen
