The snow came down in the night
\nand continues to fall
\nthe trees take on an adornment of lovely frosty white fluff
\nmy morning is touched by the kindness of a friend
\nand my first wedge of panetonne (seems criminal as it is already the 23rd!)
\nso I am smiling as I go out to freshen the bird feeders
\nthe outside world is a glorious wintery white
\nand the loveliest fresh air enlivens me
\neasy to breathe in
\nand wonderfully cleansing to a sagging spirit
\nit feels so good ..\u00a0 to breathe\u2026
\nseeds for the birds, and monkey nuts for the squirrels
\nand the blues
\nwith all feeders full, I decide since it seems so lovely out
\nI’m just not ready to go in
\nperhaps I should shovel a bit of the drive
\nmy husband has gone out already, first to a morning catering
\nbefore he\u2019s off to regular work and a large Victorian Dinner
\nin between the two
\nhe pulls in the drive just as I am finishing
\nand laughs at how cute I am in his big winter boots
\nand large flannel coat
\nmy hair still wet from the shower
\nI tell him, I\u2019m sure the neighbours appreciate it too
\none more work shift, and then we
\n(the loveliest of words)
\ndraw in
\nalready, I can feel the ease and comfort
\nof
\nthis
\nthe sun breaks through in the sky,
\nand I raise up from my toes, until I am tall
\nand smiling wide, consumed by light
\nthen
\nin gratitude
\nI send my holiday wishes to you
\nthat you may be surrounded by wonder and beauty
\ncomfort and joy
\nease and graciousness
\nand always
\nLove and kindness<\/p>\n
and then,
\nI send you peace
\nto find you whole,
\nand should there be any small spaces where you might be
\naching
\nI send you a little extra Love
\nto
\nfill you up<\/p>\n
and to whatever you may be celebrating
\nI do hope you are
