This morning while I read,
\nthe sun is shining brightly on my face and arms
\noutside the wind is whipping wildly
\na small branch, a favourite perch for the cardinal is periodically scraping
\na screeching noise across the window
\nin the kitchen I can see shadows and light dancing on counters and
\nwalls
\nthis morning while I read,
\nI am thinking about the delicacy of life
\nthe strength of love
\nand wondering why or how I suppose,
\nwe have become so very blas\u00e9 about
\nunkindness<\/p>\n
we are all too eager to blast out our political views
\nand constant streams of conspiracy
\nperceived mess ups, foul ups and missteps
\nwe can argue our rights, our demands, our \u2018freedoms\u2019
\nour religions, our beliefs, our wealth of
\nknowledge
\nyet not as an offering, open to understanding
\nmore rather as the first slap
\nof a dueling glove<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t know what it is we gain by being
\nunkind
\nwhy we feel compelled always to loudly
\ndefend<\/p>\n
I guess, we like noise
\nwe like to be heard,
\nwe don\u2019t however, so much like to
\nlisten
\nto look\u2026\u00a0 to see<\/p>\n
to my mind unkindness is just that,
\nit is
\nun-kind
\nit is not…\u00a0 kindness<\/p>\n
this is not a condemnation,
\na finger to point
\nwe are human, I get that, we are flawed (and we do NOT like our flaws)
\nI most certainly am
\ntoo
\nevery day we can see both shadows and light
\ndancing,
\nevery day<\/p>\n
I guess it really just depends on where it is we choose
\nto
\nlook<\/p>\n

\ntouches my hand, stops my fingers

\nquite unexpectedly, \u00a0a message
\npops up on my screen
\nquite
\nunexpected…<\/p>\n
\nthe sun shines bright enough on me
\nto make my eyes water<\/p>\n
\nsettle in to stillness
\nand once again,
\nI begin
