Today, \u00a0I am wrapping myself in love..<\/p>\n
I wake up this morning worried about a friend who has been hurt at work,
\nand wearing the helplessness of
\nthe wait
\nas well as concern for a friend who has been hurt
\nin other ways
\nthis morning I am reading a book that continues to tear me apart,
\nand I can feel myself carrying the bruises
\nof others
\nthat seem almost
\nunbearable,
\nthings that I can relate to and things that I
\nknow nothing about
\nand I have to take breaks in my reading
\nto
\nbreathe
\nthis week I watch a documentary on mental illness
\nthe life altering cruelty of its
\nnature on gracious souls
\nas well as
\nthe ripples that follow
\nalso one on the discovery and effects of family connections
\nand
\nsecrets
\nthings of this nature ..\u00a0 I know
\nhuman stories interest me, but also they have the power
\nto
\ndevastate me
\nin
\ntiny but weighted increments
\nand I know this
\nso today,<\/p>\n
I am wrapping myself in love
\nI am breathing deeply
\nand I am
\nsmiling
\nI am loving my husband
\nand my
\nfamily
\nI am actively sending love and good wishes to a friend
\nI am listening to love songs, and I am thinking about those I have loved
\nand those that I do
\nlove greatly
\nand the richness of this in my life
\nand I am
\nsinging<\/p>\n
I watch a crow in the garden, gathering bits of dog hair
\nand leaves
\ntime for feathering one\u2019s nest
\nthis proves to be enough of a draw
\nand I slip on my flip-flops and I step outside
\nthe cardinal is calling, and perhaps
\nI hadn\u2019t been listening
\nthe blue jays are next to join the chorus, and most often
\nthe loudest
\non a branch above me a chickadee is fluffing his feathers
\nand squirrels thinking they are stealth
\nrun the fence line
\nthe sun is not really shining, but there is no denying how very lovely it is
\nto look upon things of another colour
\nother than white
\nand everywhere there are sprouts and soft mounds of moss
\ndown at the bottom of the garden
\nI can see bits of purple
\nas my crocus begin to unfurl
\nand this to me is
\njoy
\nand hope
\nand also
\nlove<\/p>\n
simple, unassuming, seemingly delicate
\nbut
\nstrong<\/p>\n
and I suppose this Is just how and possibly
\nwhy
\nI take this all in
\nas I do
\ncare and concern for others
\nthose I know, and those I don’t
\nyet
\nopen to knowledge and understanding
\nand
\nquestions…\u00a0 always questions..
\nhuman nature, inhumanity and human
\nkindness<\/p>\n
so that even when my heart begins to break
\nas it does
\nI am still certain
\nthat instead it will
\nexpand<\/p>\n
as I AM love<\/p>\n
wrapped in love
\nsurrounded by love
\nblessed by love<\/p>\n

\nam
\nLove<\/p>\n
