This morning I am full
\nto overflowing
\nwith gratitude and utter joy.\u00a0 This now
\nis my season
\nwarm sunshine, fresh spring air, blue skies
\nand birdsong
\noutside, everything begins to bloom so fast, where only a few days ago
\nthere was nothing
\nnow there is beauty and light and
\ncolour
\nfresh brilliant greens, reds,\u00a0 yellows and violets
\nthis morning I clasp my hands to my chest, in front of my heart
\nin gratitude
\nand I am so in love
\nwith life
\nand all its simple blessings
\nthis morning I saw a blue bird in my garden,
\none I have not seen before and have yet to identify
\nand this absolutely thrilled me
\n(even with no one to tell!)
\nand the gold finches, how could you not be happy to see those gorgeous little golden fellows
\nwhen three of them come to sit in the dogwood beside me
\nI am almost in tears
\nMrs. Cardinal is always here, every day, tapping at my window
\nyet this does not become common place
\nin anyway,
\nI always greet her, with a smile and I always thank her for coming
\nand her Mister,
\nand
\nfor staying, year after year, after
\nyear
\nthe pond is already chocked full of strings and strings of eggs
\nfrom the resident and visiting toads
\nas I take my walk of gratitude, quietly inspecting every nook and cranny
\nfilling the feeders
\nI see a very plump magnificent bumble bee stopping by any bit of flower
\nthat is open
\nand I welcome him too
\nwhat a sight
\nthe season starts to pick up speed for my husband
\nin his work
\nso I have coffee\u2019d alone
\nbut I did find a little tiny \u2018I love you\u2019 waiting for me,
\nwhen I came down
\ntoday is my day to wander,\u00a0 to find my spot,\u00a0to smile up at the sun,
\neyes closed
\nas its radiance starts to ignite my skin
\ntoday is my day to inspect, to listen
\nand to notice
\ntoday is my day to walk gently upon the
\nearth
\nto commune, with all this
\nand to give thanks
\nfor
\nbeautiful things
\ntoday is my day to look at work that needs to be done
\nin the gardens
\ntrimming, tidying and replanting
\nand then
\nwhen I have put up enough mental post-it notes
\ntoday is my day
\nto toss them all into the breeze
\nlike confetti
\nand instead
\ntake a nice cup of tea
\nsit,
\njust quietly
\nin the sunshine, smile
\nand
\nbreathe\u2026<\/p>\n

(true,\u00a0 there is also laundry and my son\u2019s birthday cake to make \u2013 but for now, I am savouring a good bit of
\ngracious procrastination
\nthe sunshine you see,
\nis insisting!)<\/p>\n

whatever it is you may be up to,\u00a0 I do hope you enjoy this glorious day
\nit is so easy to make the world a beautiful place
\nit starts
\nright
\nhere<\/p>\n

and all you have to do<\/p>\n
