\nhe is already outside rooting things up
\nin the garden
\nwhile I, feeling quite tired this week
\nrelish a bit of a lie in
\nand a day off
\nhe has just the morning, before work
\nand so he is up and busy
\nputtering outside, and then he is off on his bike
\nbefore I have even had a second cup
\nI do come out first thing, to feed the birds
\nbut then I am happy to return
\nto my book,\u00a0 for a little anyway
\nbefore long I have joined him in the sunshine
\nthis then, is the rhythm of us
\nperhaps I am slow and steady
\nwhile he
\ngets things done
\nmost times the only rushing I do
\nis in my head
\nwhen thoughts and worries attempt unruly coups
\nI would say, \u00a0I am quite active in my cultivation
\nof a peaceable
\nlife
\nthis is how I manifest gratitude
\nI like to quietly observe
\nto notice
\nI believe this, is how you
\nsee
\nthis morning, I take in just how lovely and vibrantly red is the lady bug
\nwho has flown in and landed on my husband\u2019s shirt
\nthis simple kind of thing has me briefly in awe
\nalso, the jumbo-ness of a couple of bumblebees
\nbuzzing about
\nmy Queen of the Night tulips, showing signs of recent visitation
\nby the scant splattering of pollen that remains on their petals
\nas well as the chattering voracious bit of song in the branches above
\nfrom my little wren, remarkable that voice.
\nindeed spectacularly loud from one
\nso tiny
\nmy husband again finds morels in the front garden and I am delighted
\nas I know there are fairies at work
\nwe take our wander around
\nlooking at things that need to be done
\ntrimmed, moved, perhaps tidied up
\nre-planted
\nand yet we don\u2019t begin a single thing
\nwe just keep walking
\nmy favourite kind of walk
\njust looking,
\nwe call it \u2018the tour\u2019
\nwe take it together
\njust he and I, and most times the dog
\nwe work well together
\nin this kind of life<\/p>\n
in this rhythm of us<\/p>\n
it is I would say, a great, great blessing
\nto absolutely love one\u2019s life
\ndespite the broken washing machine, the sometime
\nconflicting work schedules
\nthe smattering of life\u2019s little annoyances<\/p>\n
it all comes and goes with a gentler kind of ease
\nwhen you can find great beauty
\nwithin<\/p>\n
when you can see it
\nand hear it
\nand
\nfeel
\nit<\/p>\n
when you can offer space
\nforgiveness
\nopen understanding
\nkindness and
\nease<\/p>\n
when you can know the worthiness of love
\nwhen you can feel it\u2019s swell<\/p>\n
it is in You<\/p>\n
that\u2019s where it starts
\nthat\u2019s where it lives
\nthat is
\nwhere you will find it<\/p>\n
Consciously is how you give it
\nand how
\nyou
\nreceive it<\/p>\n
that is the rhythm of us<\/p>\n
and that
\nis\u2026
