\nand when she is finished
\nshe is left there,\u00a0 with only green
\nand I will love her just the same
\nI do love this transition,\u00a0 it is to me a little bit
\nof magic
\nand so\u00a0 I tell her just how lovely she is when she is full of flower
\nand then again
\nwhen those flowers have gone<\/p>\n
\u2018I just wanted to tell you that\u2019,
\nthis is something I say often
\nand something I believe in very strongly
\nhow very important it is to tell people, how you feel
\nexactly when
\nyou are feeling it<\/p>\n
it is the most comforting feeling in the world
\nto know that someone loves you
\nand even when you do know,\u00a0 it is so wonderful
\nand deliciously reassuring to
\nhear it
\nwouldn\u2019t you agree?<\/p>\n
and how about appreciation
\nand kindness
\nit can change your smile,
\nit can change your heart
\nyour outlook
\nand indeed your world
\nto express it, to hear it, to be surprised by it
\nand to
\nfeel it
\nto have it suddenly wrap around you like a warm blanket
\non a cold day
\nto have it dance across your skin like soft kisses
\nor to light a spark
\nthat you\u2019ve been missing
\nsuch a lasting difference it can make for someone who needs to hear it,
\nand let\u2019s be honest here, we, \u00a0all of us
\nneed to hear it<\/p>\n
it is the easiest gift to give someone
\na kind thought
\na kind word
\na genuine feeling
\neven when you are unsure of how it will be taken<\/p>\n
once a long time ago I got a call from someone who, \u00a0out of the blue
\nwanted to express their love for me
\nunrequited I guess,
\nand while this did not actually \u2018light a spark\u2019
\nas my heart had already been captured, and while also I\u2019m quite sure
\nI probably wasn\u2019t really “the one”
\nI did tell him later just how very much I did appreciate it
\nthe courage it must have taken
\nthe willingness to throw caution to the wind
\nwith really, nothing to lose..
\nit did indeed expand my heart, and even today I always smile
\nwhen I see him<\/p>\n
we are not always so good with compliments
\nwe don\u2019t know how to respond, we brush them off
\nblow them away
\nsometimes we don\u2019t even
\nlisten
\nbut when they are genuine, I believe it is so important
\nto take them in
\nand to hold them dear
\n(really, who doesn’t like the idea of a secret admirer)<\/p>\n
quite honestly there is certainly more than enough bitter, callous, unthinking
\nunkindness in the world
\nwhy ever, would you want to add to this?<\/p>\n
if I can encourage you to do one thing today,
\nit is this,
\ntell someone\u2026
\ntell someone,\u00a0 how much you appreciate them
\nor love them, or maybe one time, a long time ago you had a crush on them
\ntell them why
\ntell someone, you admire their courage, their perseverance or determination
\ntheir bravery
\nhow very kind they are
\nor lovely, or smart
\nor
\nreal
\nor simply just how wonderful you think they are
\njust because
\nyou do<\/p>\n
it is the easiest thing to do
\nand it becomes even easier if you make it
\na practice
\nso
\nI
\ndo<\/p>\n
to my thinking, what a wonderful gift you give to the world
\nwhen you begin to scatter kindness and love
\nlike
\nconfetti<\/p>\n
so this gift today,\u00a0 from me to you<\/p>\n
and oh how I
\nappreciate
\nyou<\/p>\n
