{"id":2138,"date":"2018-06-17T17:07:48","date_gmt":"2018-06-17T21:07:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/?p=2138"},"modified":"2018-06-17T17:07:48","modified_gmt":"2018-06-17T21:07:48","slug":"a-book-a-gush-and-a-good-bit-of-gratitude","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/?p=2138","title":{"rendered":"a book, a gush and a good bit of gratitude"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So this post is by way of a book review and it comes with the utmost heartfelt gratitude to the author of such a book as this:\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Rumi and The Red Handbag<\/strong> by the lovely <strong>Shawna Lemay<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>But first just a little about the author, and just how this book came to find<br \/>\nme.<br \/>\nThe author as mentioned is the lovely Shawna Lemay, as it says inside the cover \u2013 a writer, blogger, photographer and library assistant &#8211;\u00a0 who I came to know from following a blog, that I am not even sure how I discovered, \u00a0called <strong>Calm Things<\/strong>.\u00a0 (if you have followed me here, you may see how I was drawn to this)\u00a0 A beautiful blog of poetry and pictures, insight and questions and just as it says, beautiful calm things.<br \/>\nWhere you can find Shawna now is at <strong>Transactions With Beauty<\/strong>, equally as wonderful a spot, for the same such beautiful things.<br \/>\nI knew that Shawna was a published author and as I already appreciate the things she shares, I was keenly interested to read more.<br \/>\nWhich brings me to my previous post in which I write:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u201c<\/em><em>I am floating rather luxuriously I guess you could say, through a wonderful book \u2013<\/em><em><br \/>\nthat I will speak about at another time<br \/>\nit is one that somehow seems to have been speaking to me, for awhile<br \/>\nand since finally acquiring it, I have held it and lightly brushed its cover with my fingertips<br \/>\nbut not yet opened<br \/>\nas to not spoil it before I had time to be consumed<br \/>\nI am not someone who reads for mass volume<br \/>\nthat is to say to get through as many as I can,\u00a0 I don\u2019t set a goal, or make a pledge<br \/>\nto read this many books by such a time<br \/>\nI like the ones that seem to find me<br \/>\nand I try to intentionally take in every word, when there are things I hope to learn<br \/>\nor words from someone who has me constantly nodding my head or<br \/>\nsuddenly closing the book and clutching it to my chest when I feel overwhelmed by the sensation that these words might possibly be written on my very own heart<br \/>\na pretty fantastic feeling, I can tell you<br \/>\nand this one, is just such a book \u201c<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t quite feel as if I can adequately do this lovely book justice, for just how wonderful I thought it was.<br \/>\nIt is just simply the most beautiful thing.<br \/>\nIt had me completely consumed by every single word, image and character.\u00a0 From the vintage feel of the secondhand dress shop, to the mysteries contained.\u00a0 The perceptions of the known as well as the unknown.\u00a0 To friendships, connections and to questions. To beauty, kindness and fragile things.<br \/>\nTo the courage it sometimes takes one to just be seen.\u00a0 And too,\u00a0 to Rumi.<\/p>\n<p>So very many things I loved about this story, I hesitate to list them here as to not give anything away.<br \/>\nIt has me wanting to hand out copies in the street, while at the same time keep it safe and protected as to not spoil a single magical thing.\u00a0 (which hardly seems fair to the author)<br \/>\nSo much more I wish to say..\u00a0 \u00a0so very much is currently floating through my chest, I hesitate to spill it all out here, as it just feels quite wonderful,\u00a0 \u00a0 right where it is.<br \/>\nI am always aware that people\u2019s taste in reading,\u00a0 is quite varied. What one finds quite wonderful might strike someone else as just .\u00a0 meh.\u00a0 Sometimes it is timing, perspective, styles of writing, the use of words and language.<br \/>\nFor me this lovely little book,\u00a0 will go straight to my favourites shelf,\u00a0 and better still \u2013 it has me in search of just the right handbag in which I will slip<br \/>\nmy much loved copy<br \/>\nof this<br \/>\nbeloved, beautiful<br \/>\nbeauty-filled<br \/>\nbook<br \/>\nso that I am never,\u00a0 without.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you so very much Shawna Lemay for this book, this gift,\u00a0 and all it contains.<br \/>\nI remain,<br \/>\nmost grateful to have found you<br \/>\nboth\u00a0 \u2665<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So this post is by way of a book review and it comes with the utmost heartfelt gratitude to the author of such a book as this:\u00a0\u00a0 Rumi and The Red Handbag by the lovely Shawna Lemay.
