It\u2019s Friday afternoon, the sun is shining so very brightly
\nand its hot,\u00a0 like really hot
\nas today I do not have to be at work (therefore not sweating profusely in a greenhouse)
\nit is also known to me
\nas
\nlovely and
\ngorgeously hot
\nso much so that when I have finished my wander of
\nwonder and
\ngratitude
\nmy favourite place to be is in my chair
\nat the corner of the patio, mostly shaded in our gargantuan wisteria vine
\nbut still sunshine on one shoulder
\nthe garden is such that no matter how hot it gets
\nwith all the encouraged vegetation, one can always feel a bit of breeze
\nhere
\nand you hardly register how very hot it is… out there,
\nthat is
\nuntil
\nyou move
\nso you see, a gentle stillness is preferred here
\nfrom my chair, behind me I can hear birds happily splashing in the bird bath
\nthat I have just
\nfreshened
\npiled up like children at a slide, all not-so-patiently waiting for their chance to go in
\neach time I sit here now, the fish gather in a
\nsweet silent serenade, just beside me
\nmouths in constant motion
\nthey make my little heart sing too
\nthe young cardinals hop in for a splash at the other bath
\nthat seems reserved just for them
\nno line ups
\na couple of gold finch were here this morning, to beat the heat
\nI suppose
\nand the chipmunks are ever busy in their gathering
\na young robin whom I\u2019m sure was born here, as he seems to hang around
\nhas just enjoyed a grand splash
\nand then shake
\nshowing off his lovely spotted tummy, not yet so regal as a red breast
\na couple of toad stools appeared out of the dampness
\nso I know well
\nthe fairies are here
\nas always I have greeted the flowers, the squirrels
\nand the bees
\nawed and admired and tried not to
\ndisturb
\nchecked in on the several late tadpoles
\nstill waiting transformation
\nand then too
\nI have stopped
\nand spoken
\nwith the
\ntoads<\/p>\n

what I was actually\u00a0 thinking about today was
\nconnected-ness
\nand our being seen
\nand how very much I do appreciate
\nthe kindness
\nof you
\nand possibly just how to tell you once again
\nwithout my sounding sappy
\nand full of
\nfluff<\/p>\n

but I seem to have wandered off…<\/p>\n

so then here, let\u2019s just take a walk
\ntogether
\nwithout the need to think up words
\nand let me show you
\njust
\nhow wonder –\u00a0 full
\nthis
\nfeels\u00a0 \u2665<\/p>\n
