{"id":2181,"date":"2018-07-04T18:15:24","date_gmt":"2018-07-04T22:15:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/?p=2181"},"modified":"2018-07-04T18:15:24","modified_gmt":"2018-07-04T22:15:24","slug":"watching-the-world-flutter-by","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/?p=2181","title":{"rendered":"watching the world flutter-by&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This morning from my chair, outside in the garden<br \/>\nI look up at the sky<br \/>\nand it feels as if something is missing,<br \/>\nbut I can\u2019t place it<br \/>\nwhile of course there is something missing from this view<br \/>\na tree was cut down a couple of years ago, a very large tree<br \/>\nand it did indeed change the sight line<br \/>\none would think I\u2019d have gotten used to that by now<br \/>\nwhat I notice as I am looking,\u00a0 wonderingly at the blue<br \/>\nthat it is not so much an openness that I am feeling<br \/>\nbut rather an exposed sort of something\u2019s-just-not-right-ness<br \/>\nof course I know this is me, and not the sky<br \/>\nI am, as I like to say, riding the waves trying to<br \/>\nstay afloat<br \/>\nnot take on water<br \/>\nI can tell when small things start to test me<br \/>\nand just how easily mounting trifles annoy<br \/>\nI tell my husband first thing, not too expect much from me today<br \/>\nI am most unagreeable<br \/>\nand really only deserve my own company<br \/>\na few curt answers and large sighs, and I think he\u2019s got the message<br \/>\nthis is in the nature of love<br \/>\nwhen I am good enough to warn, and he<br \/>\nis kind enough<br \/>\nto<br \/>\nlisten<br \/>\nso,\u00a0 instead of compounding my mood<br \/>\nwith mounting irritation<br \/>\nI make a choice to ease myself through<br \/>\nI take a vow of &#8211; well not silence exactly ..\u00a0 but a certain, quietness<br \/>\nso I wander a little, then<br \/>\nsit<br \/>\nif one is moving it is terribly hot,<br \/>\nhowever, if one is sitting peacefully still, it is gloriously<br \/>\nscorching sunshiny splendour<br \/>\nI sit and watch the yellow finches at the feeder<br \/>\nand enjoy the steadfast company of the fish<br \/>\nI happily note the number of times I have watched a Monarch floating by<br \/>\nsitting on the milkweed<br \/>\nas well as a couple of darling little white and pale yellowish<br \/>\nfrequent flutterbys dancing around me<br \/>\nI listen to the cicada sing and think this is the first one I have heard this year<br \/>\nI watch the bees come and go from the trumpet vine,\u00a0 legs heavy with pollen<br \/>\na wonderful time to be ..\u00a0 a bee<br \/>\nI marvel at just how many tadpoles are still in the tadpole stage<br \/>\nall heads and swishy tails<br \/>\na quiet walk leads to the wonderful discovery of a flowering cornflower<br \/>\ndelightful, as I have tried many times to import them from<br \/>\nrougher terrain<br \/>\nand finally, just one has appeared<br \/>\nin beautiful cornflower blue (imagine!)<br \/>\na familiar call, from the branches behind and I watch as the chick-a-dee family<br \/>\nland in the dogwood<br \/>\nand then sneak in for a splash in the pool<br \/>\nwhile I attempt to capture a few snaps, the fish try hard to get my attention<br \/>\nby making the loudest kissing noises,\u00a0 cheeky!<br \/>\nsuddenly I can feel myself<br \/>\nsmiling<br \/>\nwide<\/p>\n<p>I look up again at the sky,\u00a0 it is the brightest blue<br \/>\nand the sun warm and inviting<br \/>\nshines through in fiery comfort<br \/>\nadding spice to skin<br \/>\nI close my eyes<br \/>\nI am ease\u2026<\/p>\n<p>from the speaker I can hear<br \/>\nthe lovely Allison Krauss and James Taylor singing,<\/p>\n<p><em>\u266a How\u2019s the World Treating You \u266a<\/em><\/p>\n<p>when I open my eyes, and look down at the dapples of sunlight shining through<br \/>\nthe wisteria vine<br \/>\nI spot in the shadows, a heart<br \/>\nonce again I am reminded<br \/>\neven on the tougher days..<br \/>\nI am love<\/p>\n<p>and for this,\u00a0 always, always<br \/>\nI am<br \/>\ngratitude \u2665<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2183\" src=\"http:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_9459.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_9459.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_9459-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_9459-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_9459-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_9459-1170x878.jpg 1170w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning from my chair, outside in the garden I look up at the sky and it feels as if something is missing, but I can\u2019t place it while of course there is something missing from this view a tree&hellip;
