\nis my day to
\nbe.<\/p>\n
When first I wake this morning, I am in no hurry to rise
\neven though I can hear the dog barking which then turns into a howl
\nhe thinks he has been left
\nalone
\nthe clock says 7:45, which means both sons have left for work
\nand my husband is off to the driving range to
\nteach lessons
\nstill I am not yet ready to
\nmove
\ntoo tired and anticipating stiffness
\nfrom hands that were overtaxed yesterday at work
\nI drift back into dream
\nI dream that my neighbour has cut down a large tree
\nand a shrub
\ncreating a rather large hole in our fence line
\nand I am horrified
\nsomehow this mingles with a dream of an intense and quite nasty
\nfight with my daughter, in which both of us are horrible human beings
\nwhen finally I do get up and make my way downstairs
\nI am happy to find, neither of these things have actually happened
\nso there\u2019s a bit of gratitude ..\u00a0 already
\nI am however,\u00a0 indeed feeling sort of off today
\nweary, and my allergies still reeking havoc
\ncausing bouts of dizziness
\nmaking my face puffy and my vision blurry
\nand while I am not nearly as sore and stiff as I thought I might be
\nI am still feeling the need for
\nease
\nI take my coffee outside and sit peacefully to finish my book
\njust me
\na couple of young blue jays,\u00a0 and a robin in the bird bath keeping cool
\na tiny peep below, and I know a toad is on his way to the pond
\nwhen I look up as a lovely breeze whispers through
\na dragon fly and then a gorgeous swallowtail grace my
\nspace
\nmy husband comes in,\u00a0 with just enough time for a kiss
\na couple of seconds of catch up
\na shower, a quick change
\nanother kiss
\nand then,\u00a0 again he is
\ngone
\nI miss him already<\/p>\n
a gorgeous plump bee buzzes into my field of vision
\nand I decide
\nto follow him out for a walk
\namong
\nthe
\nflowers<\/p>\n
Now one might wonder,\u00a0 but what are you doing?
\nWhat are you getting done?
\nWhat is it You are contributing to the world?<\/p>\n
I guess,
\nmaybe, I’m just trying to slow it down a little<\/p>\n
offer a little courage
\na little kindness
\na little
\nlove<\/p>\n
that’s all,\u00a0 because it’s Friday
\nand Friday
