a day on which, your own kind of greatness, is required…<\/em><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think that I shall ever
\nmove mountains\u2026<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t really think that I shall ever
\neven try<\/p>\n

it\u2019s not my thing, not my bag
\njust not my way
\nof be \u2013 ing<\/p>\n

and just like that then, it is August
\nit\u2019s humid, languid and grey
\njust I suppose,\u00a0 as August as August should be
\nit\u2019s been hot and dry, and then
\nwet
\nand things in the garden appear to be in a sort of
\nholding pattern
\nno one trying to overpower the other
\njust a certain gentleness to
\nbeauty
\nthere is a quietness to the outside, the softest breeze
\neach of us anticipating more rain
\nas I am out of seed, my visitors seem infrequent
\nor possibly it\u2019s the looming clouds
\nit feels soothing this morning, like this is just the kind of quietness
\nI breathe
\nhalf of the household has gone off to work
\nand the other half still sleep
\neven the dogs refrain from following me out
\nand so I wander, quietly
\nlittle sounds
\nexcept for how often I chat to the flowers and the
\nbees<\/p>\n

I\u2019m thinking about dynamic entrepreneurs, go getters, so called
\nmovers and shakers
\npeople who are said to \u2018move mountains\u2019 \u2013 not simply for financial gain
\nbut intelligent, creative, inspired thinkers, who aspire to change the world
\nor our thinking, our ways in it
\nfor the better
\nI\u2019m thinking of those that I admire and continue to learn so much from
\nI\u2019m thinking of women I know, who are striving for excellence
\nthose that connect with me as a way of marketing, in a drive, a recruitment
\nspurring others to excellence
\nand the curiousness
\nof this…
\nand also those that strive, but here,\u00a0 wish to connect in a kind of
\nmutual inspiration<\/p>\n

by way of an answering, I suppose
\na way to not
\ndisappoint
\nI am also thinking this,
\nI don\u2019t think I shall ever move mountains
\nI don\u2019t really think, that I shall ever
\neven try
\nI just have a smaller way of being
\nI don’t have a wish to be
\notherwise
\nI don\u2019t harbour jealousy, envy or even scorn
\nI greatly admire great accomplishments
\ngreat accomplish-ers
\nam happy to celebrate your grandeur
\nI continue to marvel at just how amazing people can be
\nam quite frequently in awe
\nI try as I can to listen, to learn, to absorb bits of
\ngreatness
\nI
\napplaud<\/p>\n

And then there is this,
\nyesterday, in the greenhouse,\u00a0 while spraying some seeds, I spot a trapped Monarch butterfly
\nin a cramped,\u00a0 nearly impossible location
\nwhere for safety reasons, we are barred from going
\nyet I think to myself, \u2018screw it, I\u2019m going in\u2019
\nI crawl on my hands and knees, over and under where I can
\nand I gently lift the monarch,\u00a0 assuring her the whole time
\nit\u2019s ok, I\u2019ve got you
\nI can feel her
\nholding
\non
\nthen slowly on elbows and knees, I retrace my steps
\ncrawl back out
\nI take her outside, hoping against hope that I have not damaged a wing
\nin trying to maneuver us through
\nonce outside
\nI open my hand
\nand she flies gracefully above my head,\u00a0 \u00a0in grateful freedom
\nand I
\nam elated<\/p>\n

and even though I am the only one involved in this
\nrescue mission
\nand the only one to witness this kindness and this gratitude
\nis me\u2026
\nthis really feels like my mountain
\ntoday<\/p>\n

it\u2019s my heart you see,
\nthis is how I shall make my mark
\nin a gentle, but determined kind of way
\ntoward
\nkindness
\nand love<\/p>\n

without damaging ..\u00a0 a wing<\/p>\n
