{"id":2318,"date":"2018-08-24T15:32:50","date_gmt":"2018-08-24T19:32:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/?p=2318"},"modified":"2018-08-24T16:32:22","modified_gmt":"2018-08-24T20:32:22","slug":"to-sifting-through-words","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tamara.tedzplace.ca\/?p=2318","title":{"rendered":"to sifting through words&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I am writing words in my head<br \/>\nfar too many at once<br \/>\nall milling around, brushing past in flashes<br \/>\nbumping into<br \/>\neach other<\/p>\n<p>a song I have recently discovered has carved its place in my heart<br \/>\nthe words and melody constantly playing in thoughts<br \/>\nand on my lips<br \/>\n<em>\u2018she is messy,\u00a0 but she\u2019s kind\u2019\u2026<\/em><br \/>\nthis, the line I can remember, the rest\u2026<br \/>\nI just hum<\/p>\n<p>last night I watched a documentary called Maiko: Dancing Child<br \/>\nabout a prima ballerina with the Norwegian National Ballet<br \/>\nher work and dedication as well as her desire to have a child<br \/>\nbut to maintain her place at the top<br \/>\nit was quite touching, quite thought provoking and quite<br \/>\nbeautiful,\u00a0 especially of course, brief portions of Swan Lake<br \/>\nand again I marvel at people so very brilliant and focused on their art<br \/>\nand always I admire that true sense of oneself<br \/>\nquite miraculous<\/p>\n<p>this morning<br \/>\nI am reading a book about facing adversity, building resilience<br \/>\nalso about grief and how best we can move through it<br \/>\nas well as how very much we need<br \/>\neach other<br \/>\nhow we comfort and support<br \/>\nhow we<br \/>\nreach out<br \/>\n(or not)<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m thinking about life and love<br \/>\nfriends, colleagues, acquaintances<br \/>\nand<br \/>\nfamily<br \/>\nhow we hold each other up<br \/>\nhow we<br \/>\nlet each other<br \/>\ndown<br \/>\nthe stories we tell<br \/>\nwhen we feel slighted, or hurt, betrayed<br \/>\nhow we don\u2019t always ask questions<br \/>\nto<br \/>\nunderstand<br \/>\nto consider..<br \/>\nhow instead we prefer to stick with our version of things<br \/>\ntell our own stories of what someone<br \/>\nis like<br \/>\nor has done or not<br \/>\ndone<br \/>\nand how this serves us<br \/>\nand<br \/>\nwhy\u2026<\/p>\n<p>of how much time is wasted,\u00a0 that will not come back<br \/>\nand whether&#8230;\u00a0 \u00a0it is<br \/>\nthat<br \/>\nwe even<br \/>\nnotice<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m thinking about respecting one\u2019s privacy<br \/>\nyet sharing our stories<br \/>\nso that other\u2019s may know<br \/>\nthat we\u2019re here<\/p>\n<p>about<br \/>\nreaching out in ways that we can<br \/>\nwhen we can<\/p>\n<p>about connections lost and then<br \/>\nfound<br \/>\nor just<br \/>\nlost&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>about a willingness to accept new truths<br \/>\nletting go of old stories<br \/>\nforgiveness<br \/>\nand the courage<br \/>\nto be<br \/>\nkind<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m thinking about empathy and openness<br \/>\nabout soft eyes and soft hearts<br \/>\nand<br \/>\nSTRENGTH<br \/>\nof character<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m thinking about boldness and blindness<br \/>\nand ignorance<\/p>\n<p>about the brashness of noise and about<br \/>\nthe comforts<br \/>\nof<br \/>\npeace<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m thinking about genuine goodness<br \/>\noutstretched arms<br \/>\nand the nourishment<br \/>\none feels<br \/>\nin the offering<br \/>\nof a hug<\/p>\n<p>and also,\u00a0 just where we might be<br \/>\nif maybe<br \/>\nwe<br \/>\ntried<\/p>\n<p>to listen\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>and then comes, another line from that song,<br \/>\n<em>&#8230;\u00a0 \u2018she is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie\u2019\u00a0\u00a0 \u266a\u266a\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u2665<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today I am writing words in my head far too many at once all milling around, brushing past in flashes bumping into each other a song I have recently discovered has carved its place in my heart the words and&hellip;
