I started writing this morning,\u00a0 it is Friday after all,
\nmy day
\nI start to tell you
\njust how peaceably it begins for me with a
\nsmile
\nthoughts on a day to myself
\na restful house, a quiet read
\nthe day, overcast and humid
\nthe garden in a kind of stilted state of late summer\u2019s
\nfading beauty
\nand unfortunately a very grand day it would seem
\nfor mosquitoes
\nwho do appear today, as quite fond of
\nmy deliciously bare flesh
\nit is the loveliness of things accompanied by the sort of bothersome-ness of
\nothers
\nhas me thinking,
\nperhaps this is itself the very fine balance
\nof life<\/p>\n
now it is afternoon,
\nand I just abandon the words sitting at the top of the page\u2026
\nuntouched
\nand start a sort of
\nrewrite<\/p>\n
the sun starting to shine through the clouds
\nthe sky between is
\nblue
\nas I flip through pictures of the flowers, \u00a0I took this morning
\nin gratefulness I am lavishing a day that is mine
\nbut too
\nI am missing my husband, who I haven\u2019t seen since the five minutes
\nwe had together yesterday morning
\nwhile I know he was in bed last night
\nbeside me
\nfeeling so very tired, I barely budged when he left this morning
\ninstead, I am greeted with a little note, left on a pad
\nwords of
\nlove
\nas I haven\u2019t had much time to write this week
\nI am feeling a little unbalanced
\nbetween a day to myself,
\nand really wishing for the company
\nof the one I love
\nor is it the ratio of clouds to sunshine
\nthat seem to be
\nreflecting my mood<\/p>\n
in the midst of writing this morning
\nI do a \u2018quick\u2019 check in to twitter (mostly because it told me to!)
\n\u2026\u00a0 and every time I wonder why I am there
\nI don\u2019t tweet much
\nI don\u2019t get it,\u00a0 well I guess I get it,\u00a0 but certainly there is a small fear of
\nnot measuring up (it sometimes feels like a bully culture)
\npossibly it is doubtful I have the skin
\nfor it
\nwhat is it I might have to say? and really who would care?
\nI don’t feel much like a billboard kind of person,\u00a0 no, I am much more a sort of
\npost-it note kind of girl
\nI prefer I guess to be a fly on the wall
\nand (shockingly I know) – \u00a0to just ..\u00a0 read
\nI like intelligent minds, intelligent thoughts and
\npeople who make me laugh
\nso mostly that\u2019s why
\nI\u2019m there
\nI don\u2019t contribute much<\/p>\n
truth be told,\u00a0 I don\u2019t know how much I contribute here either\u00a0 \u00a0(I think I\u2019m rambling..)
\nmostly it\u2019s just like talking to myself
\nabout my day,\u00a0 thoughts I have or things I have seen
\nsometimes
\nit\u2019s recognizing moods and feelings,
\n(we all have \u2018em)
\ntalking myself ..\u00a0 through
\nit’s my hope I guess, that my words become like a mirror
\nfor beautiful things
\nwhere possibly we see
\neach other
\nor maybe like a little frame
\naround some small simple thing that you may have overlooked
\nmaybe..
\nit brings a smile to your face
\nor warms your heart a little<\/p>\n
and if it does,
\nwell,\u00a0 that feels like something to contribute<\/p>\n
to me
\nthat feels like
\nlove\u00a0 \u2665<\/p>\n
