\nbecause I am a nurturer, a feeler
\nand a person of

\nI have a tendency to get well drawn into
\nthe concerns of the day
\nbecause I am a reader of writers who they themselves
\nare drawn in
\nand to express oneself in thoughts and feelings is
\nhow we

especially when one would have thought or at the very least
\nin this day and age would have
\nhoped
\nthat these sorts of things would be unthinkable, intolerable
\nand unquestionable<\/p>\n

\nto call himself a
\nleader
\none who publicly mocks and vilifies and willingly spews blatant cruelty
\nto cheers
\nso sadly celebrated for doing so
\nthere can be no triumph here<\/p>\n
\nI witness it
\nbut before the ugliness of intentionally or unthinkingly hurting someone else
\nas a way to feel superior
\ncan attach itself to my skin
\nI wash off the uncleanliness of it
\nI ground myself in what I know
\nand I continue to try to keep my heart
\nwhole, soft and open<\/p>\n
\na health concern, or two
\na heart concern, or many
\na very real need for
\ngathering
\nand the heart beats strong
\none feels like linking arms and drawing friends
\ntogether
\nto being held
\nand to holding on
\nto what is right, to what is decent
\nto what is
\nkind
\nthere is never an excuse to be otherwise
\nto my thinking there is only
