One of the wonderful things of writing here
\nis when a post comes up from last year
\nor the year before
\nit is equally enjoyable for me to revisit
\nme
\nand the nice thing is, \u00a0it always confirms the nature of
\nlight and shadow, sunshine and cloud
\nthat flow with me
\nor I
\nwith
\nit
\nfamiliar patterns that help me to recognize
\nthe light will always
\nreturn
\nand more to my reasons for sharing my words
\nI know well, I am not the only one
\nmaybe you too
\nmight need just that little
\nreminder of a
\nspark
\nto keep you bright<\/p>\n

I send out a message to my beloveds
\n\u2018Now collecting letters to Santa\u2019<\/em>
\nfrom two I receive almost instant replies
\none more trickles in
\nlast night my son hands over his
\n\u2018Stressmas Wish List\u2019
\nit is labelled so because he doesn\u2019t like to ask for things
\nand I know exactly where he get this
\nnot with regards to his own well being
\nbut just in the need for
\nextra things
\ngifts and such
\nI hope this means that we have managed to keep the joys of Christmas
\nsimple
\nin our family
\n(I believe it does)<\/p>\n

I am currently still muddling through my own kind of
\nStressmas Wishes
\nfinancial worries for the season\u00a0 (as always)
\nthe inevitable work related Christmas Parties to come
\nand sands through the hour glass
\ntravelling far too fast
\nfoot searching for the brake
\n‘Tis the season..
\nthey say
\nsights, sounds, smells, crowds
\nand go,go go ..
\nAre you finished, Are you ready, Are you going???
\nsometimes make me want to sit,\u00a0 fingers in ears
\nand
\nhum \u00a0\u00a0(\u2026can\u2019t hear yoooooou..)
\nof course there are aspects of it
\nthat I do love,\u00a0 also the sights, sounds and smells
\nand we always get there, somehow<\/p>\n

so it is
\nI remind myself to breathe
\ndeeply and
\nfully
\nto go within when I need to\u00a0 (see* most always)
\nand always
\nto be
\nopen<\/p>\n

to remind myself of
\nsky
\nto quietly enjoy the sunshine, and the birds
\nfresh crisp
\nair
\na squirrel who thinks he has found the perfect hiding spot
\nbusy scratching tiny hand like paws
\nto stop and watch a leaf as it twist and twirls
\non the wind
\nto look for and to find
\nlasting bits of colour on my rose
\nto admire the strength of plants standing
\nin frozen animation under a tree
\nand be humoured by
\nthe still sly smile
\nof a pumpkin by the post<\/p>\n

even when I have it all scrambled up with December-ish stress
\nlike a tangle of Christmas lights
\ninside
\nI can still feel the joys when they touch me
\nslowly spreading their
\nwings<\/p>\n

because I find,
\nno matter where you are
\nwhen you practice a
\nliving
\ngratitude
\nwhen you make the room
\nfor
\njoy
\nit tends to do its own involuntary<\/p>\n
