This morning as I step outside, I can hear bells
\nringing in the New Year
\nit is in fact the sound of my wind chimes
\nushering in
\ntime
\nthe lightest mist of snow is falling
\ndelicately dusting surfaces
\nand the air is
\nfresh<\/p>\n
breathing deep\u2026\u00a0 \u00a0I am here<\/p>\n
this morning I am up too early
\non a day that offers a lie in
\nbut for the dogs\u2026<\/p>\n
instead, while the rest of my world lie in slumber
\nI set the coffee to perk, take advantage of a few quiet rooms
\nand sit quite happily
\nwith my book<\/p>\n
it is now, a new year
\nwhere we will familiarize ourselves with the number nine
\ninstead of eight
\n(nine happens to be my favourite)
\nwhere this morning I will send out a message
\nor two
\njust to tell you, what I am thinking
\nand just how much I admire
\nyou<\/p>\n
and I will think about you,
\nwhere you are in the world
\nand where I am
\nin
\nmine
\nas little sparks start to twinkle in my heart
\nlike wires connecting to their circuits
\nand I will think about love<\/p>\n
I will feel joyful and hopeful
\nand kind
\nI will look past the dullness of my January garden
\nas it sleeps, and marvel
\nin pure delight at discovering lasting bits
\nof colour
\nI will take a few snaps
\njust a bit out of focus and not mind
\nseeing instead the tangle in life\u2019s branches, the thorns
\nand still the myriad of tiny hearts beating
\nwith love<\/p>\n
through all of this\u2026
\nI will walk in great gratitude
\nand
\npeace<\/p>\n
and I will continue to send love
\nand kindness
\nthat it may find
\nyou<\/p>\n
