I haven\u2019t been feeling so well this week
\nso I\u2019ve been kind of laying low
\nnothing too serious mind you
\njust a bit of monkeying with some allergy meds
\ncombined with too many back and forth
\ntrips down the road,
\nwork… stuff
\nand some trouble with sleeping, which actually is
\ntrouble with too much waking
\nhas me this week, rather
\nunsteady
\nhalf-plugged ear, congested sinuses
\nand waves of nausea
\nhave me feeling like I\u2019m on three different
\nboats \u2026\u00a0 at once
\nriding dizzying, rolling waves
\nand so I thought today,\u00a0 I would
\ntake it
\nslow,\u00a0 seek comfort<\/p>\n
but now I realize what I\u2019ve actually found myself doing today
\nis
\ncelebrating<\/p>\n
first thing this morning was coffee and a new book
\nall to myself
\nuntil my husband came down just in time to
\nfill me up
\nthen we both watched in rapt excitement
\nat the great gathering of finches in the garden
\ntogether we tackle a bit of business for the day
\nand a few errands<\/p>\n
and together, the best place to be<\/p>\n
later as he walks by me on his way up the stairs
\nI say to him, hey\u2026\u00a0 come here..
\nand kiss me
\n(which he does)
\nnow dizzy for a reason,\u00a0 I gaze out the windows
\nand admire the glistening coating
\nof ice
\non branches<\/p>\n
suit on, tie straight,\u00a0 he leaves for work
\nI do a bit of baking
\nsome for the kids, some for the girls tomorrow<\/p>\n
I try for a short time to catch up on social things
\nI\u2019ve been too tired to look at
\nand find to my surprise a new friend
\nas well as a new old friend
\nand
\nhow lovely
\nthis makes one feel<\/p>\n
so, although I may not be feeling so well,
\nI realize
\nwhat I\u2019ve been doing this day
\nis
\ncelebrating<\/p>\n
comfort
\nease
\nlove
\nbeauty
\nfriendship
\nand
\nkindness<\/p>\n
that\u2019s what I\u2019ve been doing
\nordinary things
\non an ordinary day
\nfull<\/p>\n
full to the brim
\nwith
\ngratitude \u2665<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
