\npause to appreciate a beautiful morning
\ndeep breath of
\ncold
\ncalm
\nfresh
\nair
\ngratitude reigns
\nthinking to myself, yes this
\nis what air
\nis meant

early morning conversations
\nwith the cat,
\nI have already fed you, if that\u2019s what you\u2019re seeking
\ntrading affection for food
\nas purring, \u00a0he moves from my lap,
\nto the arm of the chair
\nfor optimum
\nsunshine
\nthis, I think to myself

someone comes across my Instagram
\na musician, bills himself a \u2018ginger with soul\u2019
\nwhom I instantly dig his sound
\nuncharacteristically I direct message him
\nlove it where can I find your music?
\neverywhere he replies, spotify\/apple\/amazon
\nsuddenly I feel
\nancient
\nwondering\u2026\u00a0 what about something
\nphysical
\nI can hold<\/p>\n
someone walks by me, as I\u2019m reading
\nhey, \u00a0I\u2019m listening to that same book
\non audible
\nI know.. it\u2019s like a biography, but it\u2019s not what I expected
\nshe says
\nhuh..\u00a0 I mutter, almost to myself
\nwhile nonchalantly running my fingers over
\nthe print
\nand wandering back into words
\nthinking to myself, like some sort of book snob

my husband comes to kiss me goodbye
\nbefore he leaves for work
\nand I am honoured by the bending
\nthe gracious meeting

just now I am thinking
\nhow tragic would It be for us to ever

\nthe vitally intrinsic power

and how sunshine on snow
\nmakes it ..

I take myself out to the garden
\nto the birds, to the trees
\nto the sky
\nfollowing footprints, watching,
\nbreathing

\nwhere would I be if not for a great appreciation
