As I stand this morning in my place in the sun, coffee and cinnamon still warming in my cup. \u00a0My intention is to observe and to visit, take it all in..
\nthere is much to admire in this Autumn day …
\ninstantly that beautiful shine catches my eye
\njust at the corner
\ndraws my attention to the light
\nbrings my face to the sky
\nmy heavy lids to a close
\nthe sweet serenity of my smile to spread .. \u00a0wide<\/p>\n
breathe
\nthis
\nin<\/p>\n
my ears become aware of the crickets steady chirp, and flight of an airplane over head
\nand the tiniest little chatter of the sparrows
\nwho seem to be respecting my space
\nopening my eyes, just a little
\nbrings me to shadows on the lawn, sparkles and shimmers
\nand fairies that fly
\nthe warmth of the sun seems to have partnered with the breeze in lovingly caressing my skin
\nsummoning my spirit to sway with the rhythm
\nof the trees
\nthe trees themselves seem to be honouring this day with their flashes of beauty
\nand their gentle laying down of leaves
\nthe crab apples by the pond have now softened to a deliciously buttery yellow
\nsome tumbling down, offering themselves freely to the squirrels for their harvest
\nThe robins happily feasting on the pokeweed, whose berries have swelled in beautiful indigo bunches
\nMy closest companion, \u00a0the cardinal still taps at the window, indicating the feeder has now been emptied, and since I am here, \u00a0possibly I could top her up!
\nRemarkably, there are still a few tadpoles among the fallen leaves in the pond, I am now willing them along to maturity, as if rushing against time and passing seasons.
\nMost of the apples have now been picked, and decorate the kitchen – really just awaiting my attention to the warming smells of the season, \u00a0though we have left a few for the blue jays and various visitors to pluck away at.
\nAlways allowing for equal opportunity to all of our offerings of remaining fruits & vegetables, flower heads and seeds.
\nThere is much delight in the busy gathering of the squirrels and chipmunks, the birds and still bees, as they prepare for the waning of plenty.
\nTo savouring \u00a0the sheer generousity offered by the late bloomers who have craftily held out for their own solitary place on the stage of beauty.
\nTo taking this all in
\nin the sights
\nin the sounds
\nin the senses
\nwith wonder
\nand with grace<\/p>\n
in the swelling of my heart
\nin the gratitude that comes
\nwith the return of my sons
\nwith the gathering
\nof my immediate family,
\nour daughters, my husband
\nas well as a few of those that we hold dear
\nand can be with us<\/p>\n
it is in
\nthe seeing
\nin the feeling
\nin the witnessing
\nin the
\nacknowledging<\/p>\n
in the drawing in<\/p>\n
and
\nin all of this<\/p>\n
