I awoke this morning to the dog scratching at the door,
\nIt’s too early ..
\nI am too tired ..
\nI arise, achy and sore,
\nfingers on my right hand, barely able to move
\na speckling of cuts decorate my skin
\nthe tip of my bent finger is numb
\nI don’t have to go to work today,
\nsweet relief ..
\nso instead, I inhale comforting aromas
\nwelcome the warm embrace of my chair
\nand sit with my coffee and book
\nas the morning unfolds
\nmy heart is light
\nthe warm water of the shower
\nstarts to soothe sore muscles
\nmelts the stiffness away
\nto a gentle bending
\nof fingers
\nkindness returns
\ngracious gratitude starts to swell
\nmy thoughts now turn to you my friend
\nand I’m wondering how you are
\nare you healing, are you happy
\nare you kind
\nwhen it hurts to move
\nwill you feel … Love
\nand to you my friend, \u00a0– \u00a0to you,
\nbecause I know sometimes it hurts – to move
\nwill you feel … possibility
\nand also to you
\nas you carry the heavy burden of work you may not choose
\nis it weighing you down
\ncan you find … Joy

\ndear friend – I still feel the sadness of losing someone
\nbut I see you do too
\ncan you find … Comfort
\nand to you
\nCan you feel a connection,
\nis there kindness and caring
\nand grace<\/p>\n
