if we were not constantly blasting the
stories of the day

Are we so better informed
or merely so much better misinformed
do you think that you would be missing
something
if you did not
know
if someone wasn\u2019t constantly telling you how
you might apply soap to \u2018properly\u2019 wash your hands
if some company hadn\u2019t suddenly amped up marketing
of chemicals to apply
regardless of what they may be doing to your skin
if you didn\u2019t meet hyped up frenzy with your own two cents
of frothed up
lather
where would you be, in your day to day
living<\/p>\n\n\n\n
this week I mention to a friend whose anxiety is high,
that this
is not a weight I am willing to carry
I cannot hold this kind of fear
in my body, (this I know)
quite frankly I probably internalize enough
irrational fears just being the sort of thinking person that I am,
and because you see, instead,
what I AM carrying
is

the daughter of someone we know, a young woman
mother of three small children, a wife, a sister
has just found out that she has stage 4 inoperable brain cancer
please take a moment
to let that sentence settle in to your bones<\/p>\n\n\n\n

for them
and although, this is not someone I know well
(sort of by association)
I do know well,
that indeed\u2026 all the way inside myself, I am holding this
I say to my husband, what would we do
what would you do, how could you even take this in?
without hesitation he says to me, I don\u2019t want to play this game.
so I carry it
inside
I turn off the news, I pay no attention to unfounded panic
and things we can grab
I hold on to unexplainable questions and great pain
hoping that possibly I
might take some of the burden away
and somehow
replace it
with love<\/p>\n\n\n\n
meet the world
