A morning walk of gratitude in the garden,
I notice the last of my roses
lies face down in the dirt, a little bit frozen
in time…
last night I sit down to dinner,
and think how very fortunate I am\u00a0\u00a0
to have a husband who is a spectacular cook\u00a0
and who will make separate vegetarian meals\u00a0\u00a0
just for me\u00a0
with enough to last a few days\u00a0
so that on nights when I am tired\u00a0
having come in from work\u00a0
when after feeding the kids, I am less likely\u00a0
to bother feeding myself\u00a0
there is something wonderfully delicious\u00a0
waiting\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and because when my work day is through
his is often just beginning
I think this, then
send him a message
to say, I love you <\/p>\n\n\n\n
this morning after a fitful night of broken sleep
where shoulders, elbows, hands and fingers
ache
I\u2019m thinking of you,
and what you might be going through
your own thoughts of how in the world am I
meant
to carry this
the mysterious hiccups of life <\/p>\n\n\n\n
as it was, I went up the stairs last night
having just heard the news of someone\u2019s death
addictions and mental health
at the cost
someone I didn\u2019t know, but have passed in the street
someone whose anguish was felt
maybe not mine to carry either,
but still
so
sad <\/p>\n\n\n\n
again then, I send out I love you\u2019s\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
this afternoon, covid restrictions go into red
just one small step from another lockdown
making hugs so very far from
reachable
and those around us so very, very dear <\/p>\n\n\n\n
so I send out thank you\u2019s, I love you\u2019s
and how very much
I appreciate
You\u2019s <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018cause\u00a0what I\u2019m thinking is\u00a0
wouldn\u2019t it be wonderful if everyone
today\u00a0
