\nof commitments and obligations
\nwish lists and wonder<\/p>\n
I am breathing today
\nin the quietness
\nof my chair ..
\nby the window<\/p>\n
outside the wind is whipping the trees
\nin wild waltzing sways
\nruffling feathers and lashing at leaves<\/p>\n
while inside I am stilled
\nin silent observance
\nand blissful being-ness<\/p>\n
a necessary sabbatical
\nof sorts
\nafter days of reckless abandon
\nnearly knee deep in
\nwrappings and ribbons
\nmovies and music
\nbooks and baubles
\npuzzles laid out for piecing
\neven crayons for colouring<\/p>\n
and to stockings cheerfully spilling their
\ncontents, secrets revealed<\/p>\n
paper crowns, and nuts for cracking<\/p>\n
and yes, \u00a0books
\npiled masterfully
\non books ..<\/p>\n
for a few days
\nnew found treasures
\nlay just where we’ve left them
\nso as to revel in our riches
\nand appreciate the fullness of our hearts
\nand the magic
\nthat is Christmas<\/p>\n
we are blessed in our family by just how very much we truly enjoy each other’s company
\nwe are at once
\nchaos and cacophony
\ncrafty and kooky
\nsongs and stories<\/p>\n
at times overwhelmed
\novertired and over sensitive
\nthen just as suddenly, we explode in great peals of laughter and inside jokes<\/p>\n
we are caring, comforting
\nand kind<\/p>\n
my greatest treasures in all of the world
\nare contained in these walls
\nand I continue to be amazed by the vast simplicity of
\nLove<\/p>\n
to resting here
\nin the quietness of
\ngrace<\/p>\n
to wrapping myself
\nin the great warmth of
\ngratitude<\/p>\n
to filling myself to capacity
\nin the glorious buoyancy of
\npeace<\/p>\n
to softening every part of my being
\nin the graciousness of
\nloving kindness<\/p>\n
and to feel my heart’s rhythmic
\nbeating<\/p>\n
in the glowing
\nof all that is<\/p>\n
