It matters, I will tell you 
in how you  
begin 
 
when your mood for the day 
feels rather 
salty 
or is it now crunchy, as my daughters  
might say 
 
it matters in how you will get up 
to make your own coffee 
open a new book 
you may not be quite ready 
to delve 
into 
probably not properly digested the last one <\/p>\n\n\n\n

sit down in your chair, by the window
unsure with this cloud cover\u00a0
if it feels nice enough\u00a0\u00a0
to be sat\u00a0
outside\u00a0
\u00a0
it matters if today you are feeling\u00a0
kind of\u00a0
un-accomplished, unnecessary\u00a0
un\u00a0
desirable\u00a0
and quite unwilling to be bothered by anything\u00a0
in the \u2018outside world\u2019\u00a0
where today\u00a0your\u00a0want is\u00a0
the gates up, and no trespassing sign\u00a0
large\u00a0
\u00a0
it matters if today\u00a0
the new cat decides for some reason\u00a0
to poop upstairs in the boy’s room\u00a0
big dog decides to bark\u00a0
at little dog\u00a0
cats continue to hiss\u00a0
if morning meals require a referee to keep things\u00a0
calm\u00a0
and speakers in the kitchen keep cutting out\u00a0
the symphony\u00a0
begging me to take out my frustrations\u00a0
on the receiver\u00a0
which requires a slight push, but currently\u00a0\u00a0
begs for a good\u00a0\u00a0
smashing with a mallet!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

it matters if\u00a0
patience is thin\u00a0
allergies are high, and breathing\u00a0\u00a0
once again\u00a0
is hard\u00a0
\u00a0
it matters this day then\u00a0
that you\u00a0\u00a0
allow\u00a0
for a grumpy sort of day\u00a0
to feel it, to surrender\u00a0
it\u00a0
not quite…\u00a0 release it\u00a0
as equally it matters that you will\u00a0
take a few minutes\u00a0
fresh from the shower\u00a0
in front of the mirror, just to kindly see\u00a0
yourself\u00a0
in soft lines\u00a0of gratefully being\u00a0
to offer ease, kindness\u00a0\u00a0
and love\u00a0
\u00a0
it matters too, that you have spaces around you\u00a0
outside spaces\u00a0
nurturing sort of spaces, where you quietly\u00a0\u00a0
go\u00a0
to look at beautiful things
by yourself
\u00a0
it matters here that you feed the birds\u00a0
feed the squirrels, the\u00a0chipmunks\u00a0
and the fishes\u00a0
it matters that you watch a dragonfly, a\u00a0\u00a0
butterfly and the bees\u00a0
fill the bird baths and watch a family of blue jays\u00a0
splash\u00a0
\u00a0
it matters that you do the laundry\u00a0
and the dishes\u00a0
do some writing, watch the clouds\u00a0
it matters that you sit\u00a0
that you\u00a0\u00a0
walk\u00a0
and that you breathe\u00a0
(best you can)\u00a0
\u00a0
and some days,\u00a0
it matters\u00a0
that you keep this\u00a0\u00a0
the kindness, the gentleness\u00a0
the love\u00a0
\u00a0
all\u00a0\u00a0
to yourself\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

because there are days\u00a0
when\u00a0
you\u2019ll need it\u00a0
\u00a0
and that is when you\u2019ll find\u00a0
