Last night I knock a jar of ginger down\u00a0
off the shelf\u00a0
which then hits the dinner plate below\u00a0
breaking off an edge\u00a0
a brief moment of devastation and\u00a0
disappointment\u00a0
as someone who talks to herself a lot\u00a0
I am very conscious of\u00a0\u00a0
harsh, defeating self-talk\u00a0
and it’s something I do not do\u00a0
it\u2019s a moment, it\u2019s a plate, not something I can\u00a0\u00a0
undo\u00a0
pushing through days of slight\u00a0\u00a0
unrest\u00a0
floundering a little, I suppose\u00a0
into that
end of July feeling\u00a0
giving way to the onset of August\u00a0
to come\u00a0
ask for what you need, I believe\u00a0
try to\u00a0tell him I\u2019m needing a little undivided\u00a0
attention\u00a0
except of course when you come at him like a\u00a0\u00a0
raging lunatic\u00a0
he somehow fails to listen\u00a0
possibly feeling like he\u2019s mistakenly been
spun through the wrong\u00a0
turnstile\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

not at all disappointed by the rain today 
feels about  
right 
 
I\u2019ve just finished a book about the Arctic,  
the Inuit and their inherent right  
to be cold 
about what we have done, and continue to do 
(or rather fail to do) 
to a people, to our planet 
we really can be a horrible, unrelenting people 
in a constant quest for control and  
money <\/p>\n\n\n\n

this morning I willingly dive into\u00a0\u00a0

and I hold it gently as I read\u00a0
feeling a great well of tears bouncing around\u00a0
inside me\u00a0
indeed like dancing raindrops\u00a0
on parched ground\u00a0
where every word feels like it is touching\u00a0
just the right spot\u00a0
of tenderness and pain\u00a0
in the most wonderful way\u00a0
forever I feel, I just wish you didn\u2019t have to go through\u00a0
this pain\u00a0
addictions and unworthiness that touch so many\u00a0
yet how wonderfully open and giving\u00a0
she is of truth, talent, insight and heart\u00a0
\u00a0
songwriting is something that amazes me entirely\u00a0
how it\u2019s done, when it is done well\u00a0
how words connect us\u00a0
speak to us and for us\u00a0
and how great the power of words\u00a0
help to carry one\u00a0\u00a0
through\u00a0
\u00a0
May you dear reader (ever hopeful there may be at least one)\u00a0
find gentle things in your day\u00a0
that touch your heart\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

even if it\u2019s just to remind you\u00a0\u00a0
where it is\u00a0\u00a0\u2665<\/p>\n\n\n\n
