My week began with the all too familiar internal 
toil of  
pushing through clouds 
trying hard not to destroy myself with chatter 
willingly drawing in, in gentle 
intentioned  
loving kindness  
words and familiar phrases to ease myself through 
and repeating the same  
for you 
 
end of week, my inbox fills to bursting  
blasting sales of Black Friday merch to steal 
MUST BUY MUSTBUYMUSTBUY!!!  DON\u2019T MISS OUT!<\/strong> 
and charitables amping up the ask for money 
where everything becomes a business 
and everyone would appreciate a little something 
more 
where grand over-consumerism has little and nothing to do 
with  
spreading cheer for all to hear 
the crass-ness of the holidays begins to get 
my hackles up 
add to this, more ridiculous over-blown conspiracy theories 
doing nothing more than showing utter self-serving egocentric 
blatant insecurities and little care for your fellow (hu)man 
not your intellect 
time to look outside that poorly wrapped 
box 
grrrrr……<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

snow falls overnight, as predicted\u00a0\u00a0
maybe not\u00a0such a happy sight\u00a0
to one who enjoys warmer temps and the glory of things\u00a0\u00a0
that grow\u00a0
where morning walks are brief, especially when so\u00a0
poorly dressed for the chill\u00a0
in pj\u2019s and slipper crocs, out to feed the birds\u00a0
say a quick good morning\u00a0
before beating a hasty retreat, back to the comforts\u00a0
of my chair\u00a0\u00a0
by the window\u00a0
then out in a snow squall on a small\u00a0\u00a0
treasure hunt\u00a0
bringing a few lovely things back home\u00a0
I am thinking of just how very much I do love
the sights and the colours of the season, and most of all\u00a0\u00a0
to give a gift\u00a0
to find things that make one\u2019s heart flutter\u00a0
in hopes that for you\u00a0
they might do the same\u00a0
\u00a0
what if instead of the sell, instead of the take\u00a0
instead of trying to prove yourself right\u00a0
the gift to bring\u00a0
the treasure to hunt for\u00a0
the thoughts conveyed to those who will receive\u00a0\u00a0
are of kindness\u00a0
are of wishing others well\u00a0\u00a0
are of something that shines, that warms\u00a0
that sparkles in light\u00a0
if we go back to the simple joys\u00a0
whatever for you that may be\u00a0
the simple acts, the beauty of snowflakes\u00a0
the warmth of caring\u00a0
\u00a0
thoughts of generosity, not in grandiose ways\u00a0
but instead, in\u00a0
genuine\u00a0
generous\u00a0
ways\u00a0
\u00a0
the gift to bring

nourishment for the weary\u00a0
countenance for the\u00a0\u00a0
wise\u00a0\u00a0
