As the beauty of the sparkly sunshine
suddenly turns to a more colour-
less
kind of sky
snowflakes increase in velocity
and a cold brisk wind begins to
nip <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have just stopped for counsel\u00a0
with \u00a0
the morning dove\u00a0\u00a0
the dove represents peace of the deepest kind, I tell her\u00a0
said to soothe and quiet our worried or troubled thoughts,\u00a0
enabling us to renewal in the silence of the mind…\u00a0
I read that somewhere, I say to her\u00a0
making prints in the snow with my feet\u00a0

Mmmhmm, she says\u00a0
what is it I can help you with\u00a0

I\u2019m wondering, if we have lost our capacity\u00a0
for compassion\u00a0
you know, for caring about our fellow man, and \u00a0
such\u00a0
we spend a great deal of time on OUR RIGHTS\u00a0
even when, more often than not we aren\u2019t even clear\u00a0
about what that means\u00a0
we are just sure that something or other \u00a0
has been infringed upon\u00a0

we don\u2019t seem to care about the simple things
like
gratitude
(sigh) \u2026 so much to be thankful for
we much prefer to be loud nowadays
seem to like ourselves better, boisterous
proving our smarts
as
the
bullies <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I guess, what I\u2019m wondering is
does it ruffle your feathers
much <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She looks at me, just kindly
from her lofty perch
and we stay there, for a time
neither one of us speaking
just breathing
slow
the wind blusters around, and her feathers blow
but she sits <\/p>\n\n\n\n
just
still
when I have felt all tension leave my body
and a warming sort of feeling, I can only describe as
love,
washes over me
I smile then, and I say to her
peace,
caring,
compassion
