Taking notice
of <\/p>\n\n\n\n
the rise of the morning sun
as it lights the bird feeder, just so
making it appear as though
someone
has left a light on
for comfort <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I could spend my time\u00a0
thinking up new ways to tell you \u00a0
I love you\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
that don\u2019t sound anything like \u00a0
questioning things out of place\u00a0
or forgotten \u00a0
at the grocery store,\u00a0
when I am home from\u00a0work\u00a0
too tired\u00a0\u00a0
to sort the words out\u00a0
right\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
yet not too tired to feel the gentle weight
and warmth
of your hand as it curves around
my side and rests
just under my ribcage,
that moves, when I move
in the night
but stays in this place <\/p>\n\n\n\n
for comfort <\/p>\n\n\n\n
spend time in the afternoon\u00a0
watching snowflakes\u00a0
descend\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
give my
strife
to the clouds <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and gather in wishes
for
peace <\/p>\n\n\n\n
and\u00a0
for comfort\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to somehow
