the gate was open
\nand so I had to venture out in my husbands boots and coat
\nwith my wet hair
\nto close the gate
\nso the dogs wouldn’t get out
\ninterrupted a squirrel
\nand voiced my apologies
\nfor startling a dove<\/p>\n
it wasn’t until then that I realized
\nthe sun was shining
\nand the sky was blue
\nI turned my face to the sun
\nand smiled, \u00a0(as you may know .. \u00a0I do)
\nwent off to get some birdseed,
\nand when I returned, the sky was a white-ish grey
\nmuch the colour of the ground
\nand I marveled at the snow flakes floating down<\/p>\n
my gaze now falling on the wintery garden
\nwith a new curiosity<\/p>\n
last night I discovered you
\nin beautiful wonder I watched a program
\ncalled Wild Arabia
\nand there I discovered the lovely Dugong
\nwhy is it that I have never heard of you?
\nthe easy answer, \u00a0of course
\nis that there is much , that I don’t know<\/p>\n
I have often asked my Love,
\ndon’t you wish that I was good at something?
\nThat I was making my mark on the world,
\nlaying my plaque,
\nplanting my flag,
\nleaving a thumb print
\nCouldn’t I be delicately restoring a Michelangelo ceiling,
\nbringing back grandeur to an abandoned chateau,
\nor unearthing a terracotta warrior.
\nCouldn’t I be protecting a species,
\nenchanting a garden,
\npreserving a historical artifact ..<\/p>\n
touching a life.<\/p>\n
couldn’t I be…<\/p>\n
shouldn’t I be good at
\nsomething ..<\/p>\n
I guess I’m good at curiosity
\nat marveling
\nat wonder<\/p>\n
I think I’m good at learning
\nat listening
\nat observing<\/p>\n
I know I’m good at appreciating
\nat feeling
\nat loving<\/p>\n
perhaps I am good at
\nwondering
\nat wandering
\nat fumbling<\/p>\n
perhaps my art is
\ndiscovering
\nmyself
\nliving well in curiosity
\nand to
