\u201cI want to tell you<\/em> about the most hopeful thing in the world. It is a seed.\u201d<\/em>

Our giant puppy has been collecting seeds
by way of trampling through all the gardens
the fur behind his ears and
on his neck and chest has gathered
small green seed packets, almost burr like
each time he comes in for a bit of a snuggle,
I pull a few out<\/p>\n\n\n\n

has me thinking about the remarkable thing with
seeds
how they will travel
sometimes falling just where they are
and sprouting anew
or making themselves so enticing to birds and
wildlife
that they are devoured and then \u2018deposited\u2019
elsewhere
some light as air, take flight on a passing breeze
and those such as this
that will simply hitch a ride to other
destinies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

as well, as we have had a busy week,
and been away
I\u2019ve been thinking about
comfort
the comforts of home and (certainly for me)
of returning
the comforts of knowing
that one has something familiar, safe and un-
burdening
to come back to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

as one occasion had been quite happy and one
a bit more sorrowful
I’m thinking of the great, great comfort of
friendships, the old
lasting and enduring, weathering
and too
the
new<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the comforts of seeing, of noticing
of acknowledging
presence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the comforts of hands that hold,
of hearts, and yes of course
of hugs
arms embracing the
all<\/p>\n\n\n\n

of laughter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

often when there are many people,
and one can only spread oneself so thin
there is also great comfort in
a nod,
a smile, a moment that makes one aware
of
connection<\/p>\n\n\n\n

always,\u00a0 I think, for genuine comfort
to be felt, to be
offered,
to
be
received
there needs to have been
a seed planted<\/p>\n\n\n\n

of kindness <\/p>\n\n\n\n

that then will travel…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and the wonderful thing here is
once that seed has been
planted,
(then lightly sprinkled with a surrounding of love)
it is almost always destined<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to
