I found this little stone at work,
in the shape of a heart
I tend to notice these things, how they
appear
in my path
yet hadn\u2019t been there before
it was wet when I first saw it
so it appeared black
as I feel compelled to do, once it has called my attention
a few times
I picked it up and simply
slipped it
in
my
pocket
(think I get this from my Dad)
when changing later after my work day
I retrieved this little stone heart
and had another look at it
now of course it was dry
a much softer tone of grey and
along its edge
a dark line appeared, as if it had been
repaired or
stitched back
together
my little stone heart, it turned out
was a fossil
and I deemed it kindness<\/p>\n\n\n\n
this week, something daunting, despairing
and heartbreakingly difficult
weighs on us
and as happens, when faced with
unknowable things, and things that will
undoubtedly leave one
reeling
as well as wringing the hearts of those
one cannot protect
I shed a lot of tears, until eventually
I surrender all and ask once again
for
guidance<\/p>\n\n\n\n
answers, you see
will come in the dear heart of a
loving, supportive, gentle and caring
friend
who listens
and in the unexpected wonder of words
that pop in on a day
and touch one
deeper than might even possibly
have been
intended
small things that trickle in
like glistening raindrops on parched skin
diamonds
that one will wish to always
consciously
repay<\/p>\n\n\n\n
reminders I guess, of the saving grace
and very real comfort
of
love
and also, how wise it might be
to always carry in your pocket
a little stitched up fossil
of a stone heart
that has been
deemed <\/p>\n\n\n\n
