I went out this morning in my flip flops
\nalways my footwear of choice
\nsunshine on my shoulders
\ncool breeze on my toes
\nI went out with my camera
\nhunting for signs of beauty
\nbut sometimes
\nthey are not in immediate sight
\nin the wet squishy ground
\nmelted snow and dogs droppings
\nlast years stems standing
\nin nakedness
\neverything seeming to
\ndrip
\nthe sunshine of course
\nbeckons me forth
\ndraws out a smile
\ngathers me up
\nuntil I am encircled
\nby sensuous flames of Love
\nevery part of me
\nnow dissolves in a warm
\ndelicious ray of light
\na softening of the eyes
\nnow brings me to the beauty
\nthat surrounds
\nthe bluebells are sprouting
\nbrave and bold in brilliant greens
\nthey are gathering
\nthe little finch I see
\nis starting to yellow
\nhis beauty too wonderful
\nto hide
\nthe dogwood stands
\nin brilliance even without
\nthe flourish of blossoms
\nyet to adorn
\nwith crimson stems
\nannouncing his natural elegance
\nthe pond appears frozen
\nand still
\nbut underneath the icy surface
\na world of wonder
\nawaits
\nwhispering to me
\nI know you are there …
\nthe squirrels are chasing
\nthe trees are dancing
\nand it seems
\neverything
\nbeams
\nunder your light
\nbreathing deeply
\nI raise my arms
\ngathering this all in
\nmy smile widens
\nmy soul soars
\non a day like today
\nwe are Joy
\nmy garden and I
\nand all who inhabit
\nand what could be better than this
\nsunshine on my shoulders

\nand Love
