Can you possibly imagine
a gentler sky\u2026

to accompany a silent
(although never so)
morning\u2019s meditation in the garden
a walk under billowy puffs of cotton
ever so slowly
closing
in

the morning feels as though I am not
as far out of the
ditch I\u2019ve been travelling
as I had
hoped
wondering if maybe I have started the wrong book
jaw still tight
my fingers swollen and
sore

perhaps I am indeed feeling
the
clouds

yet also the bright bit of sun
that peeks through the trees
adds a smile
around the eyes

a bee closely buzzes by my ear
not
as to scare
rather,
one thinks, to
soothe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the cardinals, Mr and Mrs
glint
in the cedar
a pair of sparrows in contemplative
observation

the pups and I
on our wander<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a train whistle and the blue jay
loudly
breaking through
a neighbouring dog serenades in his long
low
howl
a car zooms down the road
a door closes
a child, calls for his mom

the day itself
is opening\u2026

back inside, I sit again
with my second cup
reach for a new book from my pile<\/p>\n\n\n\n

lay among its pages
a beautiful bookmark, from a
dear friend

for a few more minutes
settle in,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

begin
again

readily I can feel that familiar joy
in the words
the pull of
home

October in the garden, I would say
comes
quietly, gently and

lovingly

just
as perhaps

it
should \u2665<\/p>\n\n\n\n
