A very dear friend of mine asked me if I could offer some words of comfort that she could share with a family member who had lost her Mother. \u00a0Although I was greatly honoured by this, I was a little hesitant and nervous, as I usually write just from my own personal feelings, \u00a0and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to offer something personal enough for someone else. \u00a0This is my offering \u00a0 – I hope I have done justice to a life ..<\/em><\/p>\n

Joy in the Memory of You<\/p>\n

how do we ever
\nfind the courage
\nto say goodbye<\/p>\n

even when we know
\na time will come
\nwhen we too
\nmust let go
\nof someone so dear<\/p>\n

and we can’t possibly
\nfathom
\na life
\nwithout<\/p>\n

the empty spaces
\nthe flood of tears
\nthe feeling of loss
\nis so great<\/p>\n

how can we possibly
\ngo on<\/p>\n

it is somehow,
\nwith Grace
\nas not to linger long
\nin mourning<\/p>\n

it is
\nwith Love
\nas instead more to a celebration
\nof a life well lived<\/p>\n

it is
\nwith Honouring
\nthe beauty of the life
\nwe have shared<\/p>\n

it is
\nwith Gratitude
\nfor all that you
\nhave been to me<\/p>\n

it is for all of the gifts
\nyou have given
\nme
\nand for all that I will
\ncontinue
\nto receive<\/p>\n

this is the legacy
\nof Love
\nto live on in someone’s
\nheart
\nafter you have gone<\/p>\n

to live on in the lives
\nof those
\nwho love you
\nand will remember you always
\nthis
\nyes this, is the nature of
\nLove<\/p>\n

and what a gift you
\nhave given me
\nthis Love<\/p>\n

and I will always
\nmeet you here<\/p>\n

in my heart
\nwhere you have always been
\nand will always
\nremain<\/p>\n

so now
\nwhen I think of you
\nlet it not be with sadness
\nbut with the Joy that comes
\nin realizing
\nthat you have just
\nblessed me
\nwith a visit
\nand
