Morning, December 23rd<\/sup>
the fan in the bedroom
above the bed
begins
a tiny
squeak\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and I am awake with thoughts
of
things
to be accomplished

tis the season of wonders
not least of all
for a Mom
and one whose feeble attempts
will always be
to keep the magic
in Christmas<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and this will include
in the bustle of shopping
for wants and for
wishes
never to forget
gifts for families in need

as well as,
in the craziness of last minute groceries
grumbles of price rises and
gouging
to first thing
grabbing the bag
for the food bank<\/p>\n\n\n\n

as for me, the magic of Christmas
is love
something special to make someone
smile
something kind that warms
a heart
something joyous
that brightens a day
lightens a
load<\/p>\n\n\n\n

restores a
soul

Christmas for us is
family, food and fun
it is just us here
sharing, stillness, silliness
and sweets

but always our wish is for you too,
whether you happen to be celebrating Christmas,
or any other wonderful thing,
(as it is always upon us to remember
there are many)
or whether the day falls, just
as any
other<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you have magic
that touches your day
May you have kindness
that meets you here
May you have a little bit of quiet
that rests ever so gently
on your heart
and squeezes you
with love

and this, my gift to you
