Do you ever get so caught up in things
things to do
things to not forget
things to
worry about
that you suddenly notice, that you
had forgotten to
look
up
I mean of course you gazed out the window this morning
as you do
while settling in
with coffee
but perhaps this morning went
rather nonchalantly straight
to
automatic pilot
instead of
acute
awareness<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and from there in to your day
a day off, no less
you focused on tasks that need
accomplishing<\/p>\n\n\n\n
but not really of course\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
more accurately, in no way
focused
at
all<\/p>\n\n\n\n
thoughts, haphazardly pulled
from the toss of a laundry pile
the heap
that swirls inside your head
and someone\u2019s frustrating pig-headedness
does nothing but
set ones jaw
to
lock<\/p>\n\n\n\n
perhaps then, close the screen of
pretending to catch up on things
and drag the sorry stiff achiness
of your body
to an active
yoga class<\/p>\n\n\n\n
quiet
the mind
feel ones feet on the ground<\/p>\n\n\n\n
begin the very necessary
shake, bounce, swirl, swish and
twist
focus ones attention
inside
in a most loving way<\/p>\n\n\n\n
invite
spaces
increase the beat of
your heart<\/p>\n\n\n\n
centre oneself in loving awareness
offer this
to the world
in small ever increasing
ripples
forward<\/p>\n\n\n\n
allow, allow
allow\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and when later
you come back to your chair
by the window
suddenly, with profound astonishment
you come to realize
the forsythia
is quietly
blooming
right in front of you
while both cardinals
the scarlet and its mate
are sat drinking
at the pond<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and really, to my thinking
there isn\u2019t ever a time
when one
should ever neglect
to notice<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the vibrancy of life\u2019s
unfolding<\/p>\n\n\n\n
right where you are<\/p>\n\n\n\n
with or without
your
