Soft sleepy kisses break up the morning\u2019s
slumber
lovely husband is off early
to work
while I, opt for lying in a little longer
my day off and
puppy snuggles just warm enough
for
keeping me
here<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the morning sky
a gorgeous blue, and the sun shines
on every lovely thing
below
as I take coffee in hand to my
chair by the window
and gladly sink in
to my book<\/p>\n\n\n\n

looking up from the pages
I see a beautifully bright and brilliant
goldfinch at the feeder
and this is enough, to call me out<\/p>\n\n\n\n

walking in the beauty and serenity
of this warm spring day
and taking in each familiar and
not so
square inch of the garden<\/p>\n\n\n\n

morning
meditation
I call this<\/p>\n\n\n\n

spaces
becoming\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and
notice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

lunch a large luscious salad
outside
not to be deterred by the starling who lands above
on wisteria vines
and (cautiously looking
up)
the cheeky devil then poops
on my laptop
below<\/p>\n\n\n\n

while to lunch I watch the tulips near by
addressing each other with
friendly nods
cheerful compliments exchanged on this year\u2019s
attire
and just how each, in this light
do
shine<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the bumblebee has much to say
but just
not much time
to
rest

birds in and out, above and
around
each exchanging bits of advice on
when one should begin
feathering
the nest
as well as, the constant chitter
on how best
to attract a mate
they do fuss<\/p>\n\n\n\n

after a couple of rather cool nights
the toads at the pond
are here merely
to lounge
basking themselves
(as am I )
in this warm sunlight<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and my dear companion
the red admiral butterfly, asks
if I might take just one more shot
and try this time, to get his good side
as he fears a tattered wing
might deem one, somehow
less
attractive<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I assure him, this
bit of modesty
may be precisely what makes me<\/p>\n\n\n\n

love him
more<\/p>\n\n\n\n

there is no perfection here
I tell him, again and again
and again

while the fern\u2019s lovely curled head
nods a tune<\/p>\n\n\n\n

one must be ever so grateful
for this lovely, lovely day
and for each simple blessing

that comes   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

fluttering light
he dances around my head
then off up higher than
I

while here, on the ground
I smile wide
from inside
say my thank you\u2019s <\/p>\n\n\n\n

for this

then go off
to polish my toes! \u2665<\/p>\n\n\n\n
