I am consumed, and completely awed by the seemingly ordinary majesty of this fiercely intelligent woman. \u00a0 While I read, and wander (as I do) travel and ruminate on the words and images, I think to myself that I shall never write another word.<br \/>\nNever will I ever even come close to the magic woven here, spun into pure gold.<br \/>\nThen as I read on, somehow I find myself here. \u00a0(if I can be so bold) \u00a0I find I am nodding in recognition, and grinning at dialogue that forms in her head, and conversations with inanimate objects. \u00a0In the scribbling down of thoughts on napkins or scraps of paper, that for me are often virtually untranslatable if I&#8217;ve left them too long.<br \/>\nI can recognize feelings, longings and the sacredness of being in the world.<br \/>\nIt is quite a vulnerable thing to open yourself up in this way, to put down in print things that make you think and feel and touch you in weird and wondrous ways. \u00a0It is I suppose the ultimate &#8216;naked selfie&#8217; where you of course have the option to photo shop out wrinkles and scars, blemishes and double chins \u00a0&#8230;<br \/>\nor not.<br \/>\nTo offer yourself from the inside .. \u00a0out.<br \/>\nfor others to smile at or scoff at,<br \/>\nto criticize or<br \/>\nrecognize<br \/>\nor possibly not to notice<br \/>\nat all<br \/>\nto step around<br \/>\ntoo busily hurry by<br \/>\nto pass over<br \/>\nyet still, there you are<br \/>\nheart in your hand<br \/>\nhumble and kind<br \/>\noffering yourself<br \/>\nwarts and all<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1457549590455_3571\" dir=\"ltr\" data-setdir=\"false\">And while I in no way would ever consider myself anywhere near the magic of this writing, \u00a0it is in the beauty and the artistry of the indelible Patti Smith that I find great inspiration<br \/>\nto continue in my own small way<br \/>\nto wandering my world in words and wonder<br \/>\nand to sharing it<br \/>\nhere<br \/>\nwith you,<br \/>\nmy friend<br \/>\nwhile talking to toads<br \/>\nsailing with clouds<br \/>\nand<br \/>\nsmiling at sunshine<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1457549590455_3571\" dir=\"ltr\" data-setdir=\"false\">always in gratitude<br \/>\nfor the kindred<br \/>\nsouls<br \/>\nwho continue<br \/>\nto offer<br \/>\nvisions of me<br \/>\nto<br \/>\nmyself \u2665<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am currently reading M Train by Patti Smith. \u00a0The extraordinary Patti Smith, I might add.
