About a month ago, I text him
Hey, I found our wedding song!
it\u2019s a song called
I Won\u2019t Let You Down, by Toby Keith<\/em>
the chorus of which is<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u266a<\/em>  <\/em>I ain’t got a pot of gold
   Girl I ain’t even got a rainbow<\/em>
   But I’ve heard that love is where
  Treasure can be found
  Don’t expect too much from me
  And I won’t let you down <\/em>\u266a<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

seems fitting,
for us<\/p>\n\n\n\n

don\u2019t suppose he even listened to it
aren\u2019t I
the sentimental one
most days I can find something
in a
song
and do tend to find love… everywhere<\/p>\n\n\n\n

or is it love, perhaps
tends more
to find me<\/p>\n\n\n\n

today, we celebrate 32 years
as Mr &
Mrs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a small dusty album of photos
sits on the book shelf
a quick flip through, and it\u2019s astonishing just
how many people we have lost
in these years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

all these smiles,
many moments to treasure
the great surrounding of love we
have been blessed with<\/p>\n\n\n\n

about a month ago, my Mother-in-law says
I remember your wedding
they (she and my Father-in-law) didn\u2019t know how
we were going to make it
they had this notion that we were too young
not
“established” enough
not following more traditional
patterns<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to look at the pictures now,
everyone
appears to be young<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we didn\u2019t really have a
wedding song,
a much less formal affair
we were more focused on
the ever after part<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess we found our own pot of gold
somehow\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

seems
we\u2019ve made it this far <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and would you just look<\/p>\n\n\n\n

what love
can do \u2665<\/p>\n\n\n\n
