Last night, I stepped outside
took a great delicious gulp
of cold crisp air
filled my lungs to
full
held it there, in a deep, deep
contented smile
then slowly released it
back out in to the night sky
I peeked out from under the roof
to check for stars
waited a minute, not spotting any
then
went back inside, to continue
frosting a cake<\/p>\n\n\n\n
this morning early,
sweet solitude
coffee, the birds and a book
in which I follow again
a life\u2019s battle through substances that
numb
and how much this troubles me greatly
for so many
I have known<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And today, I\u2019m thinking
in this solitude of a Sunday
about
connection<\/p>\n\n\n\n
about the times we live in
about our access to information
and
each other
about how easily this works for us
and equally<\/p>\n\n\n\n
against us<\/p>\n\n\n\n
as a somewhat professed recluse
these advancements in technologies
often suit me
just fine
with the ability to engage and\/or
withdraw
as one sees fit to do
but of course, sometimes there comes a
subtle reminder
of the very importance still
of
connection
of…
stepping out<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and possibly more important now
than
ever
our ability to source out the true
from the
false
the greater, from the
narrow<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and the real
from the superficial<\/p>\n\n\n\n
do we have, greater reach\u2026
sometimes
we do
are we any better equipped to know
just who we are
under that vast night sky<\/p>\n\n\n\n
are we any more connected
to our own fragile
hearts<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and have we learned yet
to trust
in
love<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and simple goodness
to save us<\/p>\n\n\n\n
because we are, all of us
connected<\/p>\n\n\n\n
with no need really
to out shout
to out shine
to out
number
to out
right
to out
wit\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
same vast sky
same love
and simple goodness
to save
