Yesterday in the garden
ten to twelve pairs
of doves
nestled in the cedar, in the spruce
under the feeders
and isn\u2019t this
a pleasant sight
seems we may be hosting some kind
peace
symposium
here<\/p>\n\n\n\n
this morning, crowds
still gather
in sunshine, under skies
most
blue<\/p>\n\n\n\n
vastly appreciating the importance
of any and all
signs of mercy, these days
I think, to see if I might
listen in
for scattered crumbs
of
knowledge
while, most humbly
I
thank them all
for
coming<\/p>\n\n\n\n
two nights ago, I watched Part One of
Plunderer: The Life and Times of a Nazi Art Thief
on PBS, Secrets of the Dead
gripped again,
by absolute atrocities and those
who
profit<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and last night, a hockey game
gathering the two remaining nations
of passionate
rivalry
as well, unfortunate sign-of-the-times
the great undercurrent
of
tyrannical buffoonery
that unavoidably
contaminates<\/p>\n\n\n\n
for those interested,
(acknowledging of course
not everyone
will care)
a fantastic game
right down to the wire
made even more enjoyable
in the victory<\/p>\n\n\n\n
True North, Strong and Free<\/p>\n\n\n\n
as well,
what makes one so very proud
is the way in which last night\u2019s game
and the tournament
was
won<\/p>\n\n\n\n
not by force
not by brutality, bravado or
violence
the Canadian players, were
gracious
aftergame interviews, all commended
the other team(s) and
players
they were
humble
worked hard, and
with enormous
heart<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and they took us all with them
right to the finish<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a hockey game
but to those of us
who cheered them on
it mattered greatly
when they stood together
arm in arm
and sang our song \u2665
